The Chinese (and probably other Asian cultures) seem to believe that all children somehow owe their parents something. In fact the Chinese believe this so strongly they enshrine it into one of their dubious laws, that is to say children are legally obliged to take care of parents in old age. Of course children do not owe anything. You can hope they will respect you, however that all depends on how you have brought them up and what you have given to them. We should not forget that no child asked to be born, the act of conception was actually an entirely selfish one on the part of the parents and 'having a child' was often something they wanted for themselves. It's parents who tend to have the selfish view.
Good grief, around 18,000 children under 5 years dying every day in Africa from malnutrition. Millions of children around the world under the age of 5 living in poverty on the streets. Surely these are the real issues, not whether or not another animal becomes extinct? What is the point of the elephant anyway? I say we should concentrate efforts on things which really matter.
It's probably you. There is a type of woman who attracts the 'bad boy', just as there is a type of woman who attracts the type of guy who will probably beat her up. Self esteem, desperation........they all come into play here.
I got so tired of people sending letters based purely on the photos, 'wow you look so good', 'you are really handsome' and all that stuff. I wanted to meet someone not so superficial and the photos simply were not helping me. So I took them down. Much better off without them. From the tone of your blog you must be also one of the superficial types who think that looks are the be all and end all? It's fine if that's what you are, I suppose it's better that everyone knows it. But some people are hoping to connect on a deeper level, you know.

You are probably right. Science seems to regard their theory, if anything, as proof of no religion. However I do wonder if it kind of points to the opposite, since I don't see how something could have come from absolutely nothing on its own.
As an employer of several people in small businesses, have you ever thought that employees frequently just up and go with a minimum of notice. What impact do you think that has on the business? Not a very good one, I can tell you. So I think it can cut both ways.
When some of us write blogs which even hint at a generalisation, there tend to be a swarm of critical comments.
"Why do many men......". Where do the many come from? The ones you have known? If that's the case I would suggest it's the ones you've known with the problem, not men generally. And that more than likely has something to do with you and the type you attract.
I've always believed in the old adage 'never trust a man who doesn't drink'. I would be quite willing to extend this to never trusting a man who knits.
I think the Japanese - having perfected artificial women using silicone - are working on a silicone woman with built in robot function. Can do everything a human women can do and much much more. Now that has to be a robot worth having.
Mr Redo. I agree, so can I. And by the way I own a business in London which employs 12 people, 3 are black, 4 are Chinese and 3 are from Pakistan (plus 2 Brits). That's how London is. I can make observations about other cultures too.

Rain, that's some interesting experiences you mention. FGM is another area - as you say, how could a parent possibly stand by and watch that or allow it to happen? All very well to blame 'culture' or 'lack of education', but how ghastly a parent do you have to be to go along with that? I guess the practice of beating children to 'get the devil out' falls into the same category.
Hey Peter, (I am assuming your name is Peter). You sound like you have an unusually sensitive disposition for a South African (I am also assuming you are South African). If you are new here then you may not have learned yet that many of the inhabitants of this site don't get out much, I suspect they are probably housed in sheltered, secure accomodation, for their own protection as much as anyone else's. Consequently their ideas tend to be slightly constained, politically correct and anyone offering a different or controversial view is a 'hater' or similar. Don't worry about it man and keep up the good work!
