"Why do many men......". Where do the many come from? The ones you have known? If that's the case I would suggest it's the ones you've known with the problem, not men generally. And that more than likely has something to do with you and the type you attract.
This is what I mean Ian. Many men will run. Frankly I wish my man of 33yrs had run. lol
My father or my brother never ran and I met some guys who probably wouldn't either.
I know enough people who would run when things get heavy or complicated, so just take your time before you put too much trust and commitment into someone.
Yes, I know it's easier said then done.
I was really sorry to hear about your Hypothyroidism. I can totally relate to your comments as I too have that and needed to regain who I was. It took two years and only men who have experienced it will empathise.
It's not something you can explain to someone and if you were anything like me explaining anything wasn't possible.
The only sympathy I have for men on this subject is that it must be very strange suddenly living with a different person.
How strong is their love? It may be testing but I think you've helped prove the point of this blog GG.

Thanks for that great input. We know men do it and I also know that some women do too.
You appear to be talking about animal instinct and the mate not wanting to be dragged down.
Sons often care desperately for their sick mothers so why not their wives.
When I was pregnant my sister said perhaps he feels responsible. Well yessss!
I think Calypso had it when she said men want to feel jolly all the time.
So girls when we're sick just remember to be jolly whilst man flu is wholly acceptable.
Pack animals have such a great loyalty in sickness.
