my second language is english! i think the problem with this puzzle is that it is not so demanding. anybody with a pinch of common sense and observation power can crack.
simply assuming the repost as right answer is also not logical. one can always choose to repost without actually solving it.
i am not angry. but these kind of activities ( simply deleting the right answer ) spoils the mood of the player. you could have presented in a different format to avoid this.
the second paragraph of my comment explained my standpoint. it is indeed equal as i have written no man nor woman as the head but an intelligent division of labor.
but there was an logical anamoly. the house work done by women was indeed included in the discussion ( i always enjoyed thought-provoking debates back then in my college days ), and when i argued that if the unemployed man in question is ready to do the same ( cooking, cleaning, washing, childrearing, whatever done by the unemployed woman ), will the employed woman marry that unemployed man? and still there was a big nooooo!!!!!
i think many women think so. i always wondered about this, many employed men are marrying unemployed girls, but not a single employed woman is ready to marry an unemployed boy - and when i discussed this with my friends they ( our female friends... girlfriends of my friends...etc ) replied with what lilly just said above. an interesting case of gender inequality!
the most logical way to run the household is, by not having the man or the woman as head, but to assign responsibilities to the most eligible person. the critical thinker will deal with jobs that involves thinking - managing the home budget and investing. the follower will do the routine jobs that do not involve thinking - grocery shopping and paying bills. a person ( man or woman ) can be partly leader ( thinker ) and partly follower. in other words, in real life situations both husband and wife will do some thinking jobs and some routine jobs. it is more like running the government.
India has enough food to feed her children - every mouth. i regularly track and research the developments and various government initiatives and after reading several reports and statistical papers ( freely available on the net ) it is pretty clear that a section of the present policymakers are corrupt and that is what prevents the food from reaching the hungry mouth.
do not worry. i have used my own econometrics and found out that she will be a developed country in somewhere between 2090 to 2095. i have to agree that i am more conservative in my estimate as leading economists are predicting that it will happen in 2050.
do not let the fall dishearten you. we will rise again and finish the race to come third.
for the same reason people drink or smoke. they think it will ease their pain. others have lot of money and are pretty bored, as they do not have to think how to earn the next day's bread and butter, and so they start taking drugs to kill boredom. many do not have iron personality to say no ( when some one offers a drink or tobaco ) and instead they have herd mentality. the term social drinker / smoker is pretty silly and at the same time objectionable. if i do not want to drink or smoke against my wish - now does that make me anti-social?! i had responsibly consumed wine and beer in the past and i do not find them as something without which i will die. i believe alcohol is a luxury / not necessary in tropical / humid countries.
