Agree with all except for No. 1. Here no one stands to the left or right on the escalators, just where ever you want and if someone needs to go past they must ask. Was in Hong Kong a month ago and there people must stand on the left with others passing on the right. Get's confusing..... Another pet hate of mine is acronyms - pure verbal laziness. 
Miskien moet jy meer in Nederlands skryf - daar is mense hier wat dit kan verstaan. En nee, ek probeer nie om Nederlands te skryf nie, dis Afrikaans.
Last night I was feeling the same way as you....except in terms of the ugliness that some men spill out against women. It's been an eye opener for me to see how much anger, bitterness, fear and anger there is in both men and women. But having said that, there are some good people here, too, who are willing to respect others as human beings and to accept that there will always be different views from the ones they hold. Stay on and you might meet them. I wish you all the best in finding that which you seek. 
Have to agree with you India, they rock....but then all the other age groups here have impressed me....at least some of them.
