I gave my employer notice yesterday...

I called my old manager at my last job and they said they'd take me back right away.

What a relief! Six months in Hell is enough. I start November 30th at my old position.

The desire to take up base jumping has dissipated entirely. No more pitiful prayers to Jesus, "Please Lord, let me die..."

It's all good.

Leah, I did things I didn't like when I was a cop. At the job I am leaving I did things I didn't mind doing but I had to do them REALLY fast (or the manager yelled at me -- literally -- called me at home on my day off to yell.) One of us had to go or one of us was going to DIE! (Probably me. I have a theory. In the US we have the expression "going postal". One day we will have one "Going CVS".)
