Thanks for commenting...like he is the only person that travels...lol... Perhaps he needs to watch the video clip I presented... Poverty is a reality for many folks...
Merc Unemployeed due to the isolation?...hope you work out at home for your own sanity...movies are my thing... There are corona virus cases that resulted in death...in their thirties...so perhaps that is why there is a concern as well...
Bo Thanks for your comment... People need to stay calm and what JimN is doing just that...the virus is not political...lol... What is it with those people anyways...
Most people in the healthcare industry are taking precautions...and people are asked not to go to the hospital if not sick...elective surgeries have been canceled as well...not to mention restrictions about visiting patients...stay home...basically... Hopefully this will flatten the virus curve...
Stay safe...have not met anyone who is a hoarder but chuckled at 2 people discussing the 2 pack limit of loo paper per person...
It is a relative ghost town here in Vancouver...and I only go out at night for food supplies...or if I have to go to work...
I think of this self isolation is like a holiday...sleep in and check out movies on line and order pizza...lol... a kind of retreat from the rat race...
It is a set back for some but it won't last...after all America does not have enough qualified people to do certain jobs...age related or due to economic reasons...education is expensive and brain drain is here...sad really...just a thought...
We have to carry on...and perhaps our economy needs to be protected...I am not completely affected economically by the restrictions...as I work as an essential service employee...but I do want to stay healthy and not be subjected to illness...so far so good...
As far as I am concerned...the Canadian government has acted swiftly...and information regarding the sick or information on the virus has been transparent...most of our cases have been mild to moderate...the deaths in my province are not that high...but caution should be maintained for people who are immuno-compromised and elderly...
But we have the time to watch and see if the virus is slowing down...in the mean time...continue practising self isolation...we need more information about this virus...
Glad they are making headway regarding the vaccines...but still better to isolate and not subject yourself with others...for people who work in hospitals...they need to be extra careful...
Once they figure out if weather affects the virus and the other variables regarding the virus...people will begin to breath better...no pun intended...lol...
I guess big cities are the guinea pigs sort to speak...but as they say we can flatten the curve...
Great that we can converse here without the foul mouthed attacks...I agree that a mixed system works best...the ratio should be dependant on the issues of the various countries which could be quite different in scale of need for social assistance...
I do not think universal healthcare will break the so called proverbial bank...what has been said by the fortunate few who are still insured...and well off...however...a two tiered system can work...New Zealand is one country that the USA could look at in terms of affordability and to appease the people who are not so sure...
For people like myself who work in hospitals...there are protocols in place here where I work...and testing will be done if need be...as for trips outside of Canada...a self imposed 14 day quarantine is requested...so I am not traveling at all...and yes staying away from crowds as well...
What I dislike is the arrogance that is permeating the Whitehouse...as if the US doesn't need allies...his brand of leadership is dangerous...where is the diplomacy in office...or actual intelligent discourse...
