A sad day

Early this day, a second medical doctor who's on the COVID frontline died. There aren't so many doctors even nurses in my country as some have chosen to work abroad. Just happen to read his last text message to a friend and there's this utter sadness. I've never heard of a doctor dying that young. I always see them in their white coat inside their disinfectant smelling clinic seemingly formidable against all germs. The more I worry what the next weeks would be for the below the poverty line group knowing that hundreds of thousands from the Mainland were allowed to get into the Philippines since December 2019. And some of them were from Wuhan. Hope that the military trucks carrying dead bodies in Italy won't ever happen in my beloved country, the Philippines. If 3 people(as per my readings) could infect and kill thousands, how worse could it be to my country? We need all the prayers we can, please guys.

So sorry to read about that doctor dying... Especially because he dedicated his life (even being so young) to help so many others... Stay safe and never lose hope and faith... bouquet
@Melody, welcome and thanks for being my first commenter. It's been awhile since I made a post. Seems like the world is at a standstill on military wars. It's a war on virus and the toll is excruciatingly high. Seems like God is saying something. Be contented with what one has. No need to lord it over everyone else and try to invent something novel to assert one's supremacy. Once again thanks for dropping by and iplease nclude my country on your prayers. Just don't want to read in the coming months that the Phils tops them all in terms of casualty!
Tatami,

Really sorry to hear this!
I certainly hope a cure is found very soon!

Everyone needs to pray that God will give us a cure for this!
@Gentle, I read something about forsythia. But maybe it's only for someone who's just on the onset of the infection. thanks for dropping by.
Tatami,

Read this: There are now THREE international studies — China, Australia and France — that found that Chloroquine with Azithromycin Shows 100% Success Rate in Treating Coronavirus in 6 Days!

We have reported on the success of Chloroquine earlier today and this week.

Here's hoping!
Got to make a correction. There are already 3 doctors who lost their lives due to Covid19. So young to be gone too soon.
Man in actionrolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

All I did was plant a Ice-cream shrub then took a pic of my hard work... If I were 'busy' on the bush I'm sure it would have died...laugh
T - this is of course sad news. My condolences on the loss of a good person on the front lines of helping others. EVERYONE needs to take the proper precautions to not get infected,
This includes thoroughly washing one's hands prior to touching one's nose, mouth, or eyes, after touching a surface that may have been touched by someone else.
Also keeping a safe distance (at least 6 to 8 feet) from other people until the disease is conquered.
Yeah the health care providers are at risk for getting this virus.

Lets home all countries will be able to defeat this virus.
Jim a doctor or nurse keeping 6 to 8 feet from a patient isn't going to be a great deal of help to them.

I'm told at least 13 priests have died in Italy from exposure administering the last rites.
Tatami, wave , here as of earlier today we have over 3400 infected medical staff doh my heart goes out to them as like most places they don't yet have the right safety equipment, seems despite knowing this would happen at some time governments seem completely unprepared, and medical staff, police and people having to deal with the public have basically been abandoned doh
Tatami, your comment about forsythia got me looking on Google, and some interesting details about traditional Chinese medicine. There was some stuff about the SARS epidemic, copying and pasting a bit below as it has some echoes with the sudden cessation of the corona virus in China now -

There are quite compelling evidences support the notion that TCM has beneficial effect in the treatment or prevention of SARS. For example, the rate of fatality in Hong Kong and Singapore was approximately 18%, while the rate for Beijing was initially more than 52% until the 5th of May and decreased gradually to 4%-1% after the 20th of May in 2003. The dramatic reduced fatality from late May in Beijing was believed to be associated with the use of TCM as a supplement to the conventional therapy . Lau and colleagues reported that, during SARS outbreak, 1063 volunteers including 926 hospital workers and 37 laboratory technicians working in high-risk virus laboratories used a TCM herbal extract, namely Sang Ju Yin plus Yu Ping Feng San. Compared with the 0.4% of infection in the control group, none of TCM users infected.
@Luke, thanks for making me smile.bouquet
@Jim, the first casualty was not because he didn't do what has to be done. Accdg to the news, he had a 60 yr old patient when asked if he had travel history simply denied it until he was in the hospital for several days. Hence, it wasn't only the doctor who was put into jeopardy but all who came in contact to both of them.
Tatami Just send a prayer up So sad that so many are dying and where is the end to all this?
Yes we should count our blessings more
God bless you Tatami teddybear
@BC, thanks for the prayer. Yes, we all do extremely hope for the end of this soon! Can this be what the Bible say?
I wasn't suggesting that the doctor did anything wrong. My suggestions were for the rest of us.
However, whenever possible, they should take their own advice.
Tat

Most people in the healthcare industry are taking precautions...and people are asked not to go to the hospital if not sick...elective surgeries have been canceled as well...not to mention restrictions about visiting patients...stay home...basically...
Hopefully this will flatten the virus curve...
This appears to be more than a day of sadness...
@Vivian, so sorry for replying late. The last victim was supposed to receive his last rites but he was whelped inside for intubation. As they say, once intubated, it's just a matter of time. And his last rites was supposed to be thru a cellphone. May he really find peace and healing. Peace because he was so worried for his wife who is an anesthesiologist too who've been infected by him and their only son who is autistic. Luckily, the latest, his wife is on the road to recovery. I can feel the pain reading his text message and surely the profound sadness of the bereaved families of these frontline heroes.
@Chat, really not just for a day. And not just for my home country and the country Iam living now but for the whole world. Some are just muted because there are no testing. Just like my home country. Somewhere between January and February, there was a news that the Phils is a model country for COVID19 as there were few infection and it was addressed right away. Simply because there was no testing. They treated people who sought medical help but when one of those detected died and traced to have travelled from China then there was a sense of fear. When testing kits arrived the people under investigation are supposed to be the first to be tested. Politicians and their staff and relatives were forced to be tested ahead of them. And the scandal is, they were tested in the comforts of their homes or offices. It is so sad to be poor in my home country.
Very very sad to read Tat. sad flower

I hope humility strikes home to everyone and be there for people in need....even after this is all done.

@Johnny, yes definitely. Human greed if the rumor is true that animals after being experimented on instead of destroying them were sold at that wet market. No need to be at the very top of the rest. We are losing Innocent lives who are just honestly doing their jobs.
Karma Perhaps?
The Animals bite back.
I mean selling potentially infected animals at the wet market (if true) is not the most sensible thing to do, is it? A pity that the rest of us have to suffer, from such stupidity.
True, Red, although they are not known for being ever so tender towards animals.
Neither were we once, we all evolve at different paces. Even some scientist evolved better than us etc etc

At one time some tribes ate their enemy thinking it would make them stronger things evolve teddybear
They need to do a fair bit of evolving, when it comes to wet markets.
lovecanbereal I remember in my country when a politician blew the whistle on salmonella in our eggs.

Brave lady went against our governments cover up. Ended up we had been feeding chicks with raw animal waste.
The whole chic industry collapsed, they blamed her, but now chicks are fed different and only when things not cooked properly do we get salmonella

So non of us whiter than white. look deeply into your own countrys not so distance past and see what they have tried to cover up. You might get a big surprise. teddybear
True, Red, but we are in the 21st Century now.
