I understand that it appears that the USA is being picked on but banning Muslims in certain countries is really shocking...even Canadians are being turned away...for being Muslim...

Trump and plans for reducing governmental regulations will make water unsafe for drinking, further damage the environment...unsafe air to breath, and no affordable healthcare for its poorest citizens...to name a few...ridding such social programs is not right...putting more money into defence/border security is what he wants to do...

I know other countries have been through more terrorism than the US...it is reactionary in behaviour...as they did not expect such retaliation...just a thought...
It was not about keeping them out as much as recognizing they were in peril if they returned home...immigration lawyers knew that they would have better chances at entering Canada by illegal means rather than requesting asylum due to the pact between the US and Canada regarding where they entered in the first place...in other words the asylum seekers had a better chance with being accepted as refugee claimants opposed to being turned back to the US...
Confusing I know but the policies made between the US and Canada regarding refugees made it complicated...no surprise there lol...
These tireless immigration lawyers are a few that hear the plight of many with dire circumstances...if returned to their countries...we are so lucky to have such freedoms...
The other matter is due to the Canadian government stance on helping those in need due to political or religious differences that would ultimately lead to their death if returned...
The world is not as accommodating in regards to such freedoms...
Lots of deer sightings and grouse...and yes an occasional black bear...was hiking in grizzly bear country too...scary...but had the bear spray and carried bells to warn the bears of us hiking in the area...
Some of the birds are known to be friendly like the whiskey jack which will feed from your hands or steal your food...oh and seen some bald eagles too...
Up in the mountains with backpack in tow...a couple of cold Canadian beers to wash down an assortment of fruit, cheese and meats...and a nice piece of chocolate...
Skinny dipping in a glacial pond after the hike too...
It is not about leaving canada because we don't have what she wants or needs...it is just an old Canadian past time to shop for deals in the US...nothing more...
Plenty of US/Canadian border towns coexist with eachother...no need for a passport to enter either side...but that has come to an end...
I hate to see people unfairly questioned and denied entry due to religious beliefs or skin colour...it seems to me a trend due to Trumps' position on banning entry of certain citizens from Muslim countries...although the "ban" isn't officially in effect...
