Biff, you seem Onlooker, Pragmatist, Quirky to me. But there is something missing. Something to do with the Creative. I think some of us get off on writing creative blogs and coming up with fun way in which to draw people out and play with them.
Astrology is sort of like those flashing road signs that are on the highway telling motorists of dangers and possible delays and roadwork. You are still in the driver's seat. And you have no control over what other drivers on the road will do with those conditions, but if you have that helpful information you are able to make better informed decisions as to what actions to take and how you will drive.

Astrology is not about telling the future. It is about letting you know the energies that are at play in any given moment and how you might respond to those energies based on your karma.
Well, Nam, since you don't seem to have many problems on the road, you are probably already very cautious. And since you drive for a living, you might have a strong Mercury in your natal chart and it is probably well aspected. It's always good to observe these times and see for yourself if things happen the way Astrology says.
Mercury retrograde is a three week period in which, as Tenner wrote, Mercury's apparent motion goes backwards. It is not a time to sign contracts or to start a new business or to make any heavy commitments. Watch driving as people seem to not be very on top of what they are doing. More people running red lights is something you might notice.
Mercury is the planet of communication. So when it appears to go backwards, it messes up the normal flow of communication.
Mercury retrograde is an excellent time to do anything that begins with 're'. Research, Retreat, Reevaluate, etc.
If people sign contracts or make commitments during Mercury retrograde they may miss a detail that will cause things to have to be re-done later.

This one coming up starts on the 29th here in the states. It's in the last degree of Virgo so its effects will be interesting to note.
Tenner, why do you care if people find Astrology useful? Astrology is the study of the stars. It is an art and a science (as much as psychology is a science). The newspaper horoscopes are scoffed at more by Astrologers than anyone.

Nam, I have absolutely nothing against Semsu. He seems a bit full of himself at times is all. I have an ego too and mine wants to knock him down a peg or two. It's pretty silly and pretty simple.
