Oh Cat - if you are going to mimic an Irish accent - please do not say - "top of the mornin' to ye"! No self-respecting Irish person has ever uttered those words, in the entire history of Ireland! That is a Hollywood fabrication and grates on the nerves every time it is heard in a film!
Am probably too used to the Irish accent for it to have an effect on me, although, I do like a nice soft Cork accent! It is the Welsh accent that does it for me. My man was from Wales and he had a lovely soft lilt and his voice was really deep. Jelly legs were the order of the day when I talked to him on the phone!
Hi Cat. I don't blame you getting angry. I would be furious if a child was that disrespectful to my parents. If children misbehave in my home, I will first look to the parents to correct them and if that does not work, I will make it very clear that it is my home and my rules. I don't care if they run to their parents complaining. At least they get the message. I have been a child minder in the past and the parents have been very impressed with how their children have responded to being taught respect. Shame that they can't do it themselves.
But Redex - these are scientifically proven facts!! How could you not believe?!! There is no hope for you!! I believe everything the scientists tell me! Yeah, right!!!
Hi Elegs. I agree with you about the ads. They are really annoying. As for the "over 50" ads, don't remind me! I think my 50th was the worst birthday ever - for various reasons. One was my marriage break-up but it suddenly seemed that every ad on the telly or radio was aimed at the over 50's. I felt like my life was over and burial plots and life insurance was the order of the day. I soon got over it and realised that there is life after 50!!
Hi Willow. I don't read profiles because I am not looking for anyone but I would say that a lot of people put what they think people want to hear. I would take most of the info in profiles with a pinch of salt. The only way to really find out what a person is like, is by meeting them. Although, you can get a good idea on the blogs.
Hi Soc. It's hard to get through to some people. What they don't even realise, is that they are dealing with Muslims every day of their lives. It is the younger generation that will lead the changes.
