Hi Sands. I just wanted to get married and have lots of kids and be a good wife and mother....................NOT!! I wanted to be a teacher but that didn't happen. However, I did end up being a wife and mother!
Love and hate are two very strong emotions and I don't believe that there are many people who truly hate. I believe, that if you love someone, you will always love them. But a lot of people confuse passion with love. Love is not something that just disappears, it is everlasting. As for hate, I can honestly say, that there is nothing or nobody that I hate, other than the hatred that causes such suffering in the world.
Hi Elegs. Interesting blog. I agree that we should all take a step back, from time to time and appreciate all that we have. However, as Molly says, we are designed to think about the future. It is in our very nature. If we did not, nothing would get done. What we do today, will have an effect on our tomorrows. Just think of all that the human race has achieved. If we did not plan and invent, we would be extinct by now. Unfortunately, there are far too many people out there who simply, "seize the day" and never think about the future. It is easy to become lethargic and just sit back on our laurels. There are far too many people in power, doing just that. Hence, the problems facing so many countries in this world. By all means, take time out and enjoy nature but remember, if we don't plan for the future, there will be no nature to enjoy. And there will always be that "rainy day", just around the corner, that we didn't want to think about and didn't plan for.
Yes, it was a terrible time in our history. However, we cannot go on laying blame. Far better to show, that despite all that has happened to us in the past, we have a beautiful and strong nation, to be proud of. I would rather see a good television series made about it, rather than a film. You could not possibly tell the whole story in one film. It would be far too diluted.
Hi Madoc. Good question. I expect it is all down to political correctness and not raking up the past. We mustn't upset certain people!! To be honest, if there were to be a film about it, I would hope that it would not be a Hollywood blockbuster. They do tend to romanticise things somewhat. We would probably have dreadful, "stage Irish" accents, from Hollywood darlings, polluting our screens. We have had short Irish films made but no blockbusters.
Fair play to you CC. I hope your getting her money too!! I'll just carry on practicing my ballet steps. It's hard to do when you have your finger stuck in your ear!!
Hi Elegs. Sounds like the type of person, who wants to be loved by everyone. I would find that very exhausting and also, very boring. Besides, I like to be disagreeable from time to time!
Hi guys. I have only checked who's viewed me, a few times, mainly to see if the person who mailed me, actually bothered to check my profile. How do you know if someone has viewed you more than once?
Hi Non. I hardly ever bother with Facebook but the other day, I was browsing it and there was a message saying that someone had accepted my friend request! I never sent it and have no idea who this person is. So, as you say, ghosts in the machine. I was going to delete my account but my children are on it and I like to see their photos etc. It is also handy for reminding me of upcoming birthdays. Love the pic. It reminds me of Bert from Sesame Street!
So Lindsey, you are always right and everyone else is always wrong!! Didn't realise that. Silly me!! I won't make that mistake again! Whew - glad I got that right at least!
Ok Ken. I was under the impression that she was in a relationship, from what I had read on another of her blogs. Perhaps I misunderstood. I am not condoning the actions of the other people involved and I think it is very sad for her, having to deal with the consequences of her actions.
Lou, there have been lots of kids that have been effected by things posted on Facebook. There is a strange mentality out there these days. I heard on the radio today, that there was a crash between a bus and a car and the driver of the car was killed. The driver of the bus had to stop onlookers, from taking photos of the dead guy on their phones! What sort of a world are we living in? There are some horrible people out there.
I did not go near her blog. To be honest, I just could not believe what I was reading. The only good thing that might come out of it is, if others who have read it, realise that nothing is sacred here. Cyberland is dangerous - pure and simple!
I was thinking of her son. I do hope they are not displayed on Facebook. Imagine if his friends saw them. Once they are out in the world, they could end up anywhere.
Hi Man. When I am feeling down, the blogs is the last place I want to be. I find that they can leave me feeling more depressed. There can be a lot of negativity in blogland!
Hey Non - feelin' groovy!
Hey Lucy, I know you want to be like me - doesn't everyone!
