The 'worm moon' lunar eclipse...

I knew it. Judging by the rise in Joe Boden will change the constitution turning America into a communist, fascist, Marxist state blogs that a full moon was nearly here.
This one is called a Worm Moon and in the early hours of Monday, there will be a Penumbral lunar eclipse. What does that mean? F'k if I know, but earth will cast a shadow on the outer edge of the moon creating an eerie glow. It will peak around 3am East coast time. Visible in Europe, North and East Asia, Australia, Africa, North America and South America.

The name worm moon came by Native American tribes in reference to the beetle larvae and other creatures that emerge from hibernation in the spring.

So get your (worm) moon on and enjoy.
If you miss it, you're in luck as there will be a total solar eclipse on April 8.

Yes, I know I spelled in Boden instead of Biden.

Wonderful photo, taking decent pics of the moon has always deluded me.handshake
It's news... maybe not in your world.
I've not heard Biden claim to want to change the constitution or take down the government.
Would you be satisfied if I post examples from the other guy?

Side note:
In any of your blogs or comments to blogs by others have you converted anyone to your political orientation?
Rob, amazing photo clarity.
Just past 2am my time, I went out under mostly clear skies and the moon was high in the southern part of the sky brightly illuminating everything. My cellphone camera is unable to focus on distance and it appeared to be a white ball. I didn't see any part of the eclipse with the naked eye.
I got a S23+ Samsung Galaxy and it managed to take photos of the Moon the other day (16th) this is a collage of some to pictures the phone took.

takes good stability, good lens etc etc
Hand held (resting against veranda post) I'm using Olympus Mk-ii camera with x2 teleconverter + a 300mm pro lens. Also I attached is Kenko UV-L41 filter.
The camera has 5 times stability built in and the lens has two times stability working in tantrum with the camera.
I can't see any sign of any eclipse, the moon just rose above the ridge, three images with different ISO settings, otherwise same settings i use for my birding and wildlife photography. (See Picture Took in Australian Forums)

wouldn't that be ELUDED?confused
Great Images!thumbs up handshake
Your s23 does well for moon shots.
I’ pm not a converter but i am alwas glad to learn that people with such visual acuity lacking people can finally understand what is going on around them.
Thanks Conrad, I'm very impressed with the Samsung cameras, one is 50MP and the other two 24MP, mind you I don't know how to use them (yet) other day i taped shutter a couple of times and camera to 60 rapid images, so I dunno.
Samsung upgraded the phone cameras not so long ago. From what I think I understand (think!), Samsung used to make good cameras and in or about 2016 walked away from making cameras and focused there activities on mobile devises. I've not worked out what the cameras can or can't do, certainly not yet.
It does a pretty good job taking night sky photos, particularly produces awesome landscape images, sunsets, sunrise etc etc. Hope OP don't mind, I'm referring to these sought of images:

The verb “elude”, which dates back to the mid-1500s and is spelt E-L-U-D-E, means to escape or avoid by trickery, cleverness, or speed. This verb comes from the Latin verb “eludere” (to evade or deceive).

The verb “delude”, which dates back to the early 1400s and is spelt D-E-L-U-D-E, means to mislead the judgment or mind of. This verb comes from the Latin verb “deludere” (to play false), from “de-” (down) and “ludere” (to play).

I believe I used the correct verb in the context I wrote.

But I'm sure your knowledge of English is better than mine grin
I am sure that eluded him...laugh

I feel I have been mooned in the best possible way...GREAT pictures.
I totally missed it, but I better be paying attention to April 8th .. I live in Southern IL.
According to this video and some of the material is from NASA, so you might be interested, but it's suppose to criss cross Southern Illinois.
Up until now nothing has ever happened when we would be warned so it's a wait and see situation.

A late member of CS who lives in Ohio, has purchased a proper filter for his Olympus camera for taking images of an eclipse so hopefully will manage to photograph the it, the eclipse will not be visible from Australia.

Amazing focus.
I'm using an old Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ that was refurbished by Samsung. I've had it a few years. The battery doesn't hold out for a full day's use now, so I have a choice to replace the battery under the care plan, or shop for a new phone.

The S24 Ultra is on special from Samsung if I trade my old phone, I'll get $400 credit.
Done. The new phone will arrive before the end of the week.
Will look forward to viewing your pictures, got line up of cameras on it....>
The Galaxy S 24 Ultra has four rear cameras, a 200 megapixel main camera, a 50 megapixel telephoto camera with a five x optical zoom, a 10 megapixel camera with a three x optical zoom and a 12 megapixel ultra wide camera.
