Hi all! Are we sure that COG was banned? According to his email, which Amorn posted on Snooks blog, he will be back under a new name! The Mods do not ban someone, without reviewing their behaviour and another member can not have someone banned.

Gosh candy, with all the voluntary work you do, I don't know where you find the time to be on the blogs!!
For me, Christmas means my children coming home and us all spending time together. Yes, it has become very commercialised but it is also a time when friends and family get together, more so than at any other time of year. It's like a kind of renewal of bonds and there is nothing wrong with that in my book.

Love a good book but never heard of a beta reader. The last great book I read, was " A suitable boy" by Vikram Seth. Fantastic! Would heartily recommend it. I believe the sequel -" A suitable girl", is due out in 2016.

It was great up to that point Elegs. We saw each other almost every weekend and went for long drives and ate out. It was a very physical relationship but thinking back, there probably wasn't an awful lot more to it. We really didn't have a lot in common. I would have got fed up with him very quickly if he was living close by.

Was in an LDR for about 8 months and although I have no real proof, I started to get suspicious when he was loathe to have me visit his neck of the woods. He said, that he lived in a small community and his ex lived nearby. He didn't want the hassle of having to explain himself to his neighbours. It was fine, until we decided to have a holiday together. I booked it with my credit card and we had a great time. All was well, until it came time for him to pay his share. Suddenly, he was short of cash and promised he would pay me the next time we met. Somehow, he became very busy with work after that and I got fed up and told him where to go. I never got my money. I could have made life awkward for him but just couldn't be bothered. You live and learn.

It's all fine and well if you have the money to begin with but there are lots of people who just about manage to get by on what they earn. Saving is not an option for them.
I always try to pay my bills on time. I hate owing money.
