For The Westerners

We live in a society that places far more value in a fictional man dressed up in a red suit than it do in the people who went to war to fight for us to have the freedom to believe in a fictional man dressed up in a red suit.

wave May I ask who is the man in the red suit, father xmas, because I know of no other man in a red suit.Just askinghug lips lips lips
Santa Claus, or Father Christmas as you said :)
professor
Red suit man is protecting Murka from the Russians & Chinese.
Russia is Murka's old enemy.* hole
China is Murka's new enemy.* hole
But they can't attack, cuz red suit man keeps Murkuns buying all the stuff a billion Chinese make...using resources THEY buy from Russia.
Red suit man is a real Patriotic Murkun.

* confused Those two sentences are the same length.
But there's one more letter in "Russia" than there is in "China".
How the HELL does that work?!
dunno

very true Track.

Its so sadcomfort
Good Morning Track, handshake Thinking of it, it is rather sad, more thought and belief being put in a fictional man in a red suit, than people who went to war for us and our freedom confused But that Fictional man in a red suit does represent the spirit of giving and caring, yay yaynothing wrong with that.(the sad thing about the man in the red suit is stores and corporations are putting a money grab on the situation) I do think our men and women who went to war for us should be held in the highest regard through out the entire yearyay yay
Track you mentioned Freedom. But weren't/aren't we already free?

I understand that there are some countries where no real freedom exists.
wave Thanks for the answer,I for one do not celebrate xmas as I am too busy going about my normal day to day chores of feeding the less fortunate instead of pigging out with the knowledge that there are so many starving kids in the world. Each one to his own ,I don't look down on anyone for celebrating xmas as it is their choice and their life as I did just that before getting involved with my voluntary workhug lips lips
Gosh candy, with all the voluntary work you do, I don't know where you find the time to be on the blogs!!grin
For me, Christmas means my children coming home and us all spending time together. Yes, it has become very commercialised but it is also a time when friends and family get together, more so than at any other time of year. It's like a kind of renewal of bonds and there is nothing wrong with that in my book. peace
