Hi USA, Don't get me wrong my dear, nothing wrong with your blog or your faith. It's just that we have had rather a lot of God and Christian stuff on the blogs lately.
I think it is beyond most people's doubt that there are theoretically millions of other planets in the infinitessimal universe that could harbour life similar to life on Earth.
Pasta - you may open a can of worms with that statement....'never visited us'. There certainly is a massive body of thought and backed-up by a lot of research and evidence which suggests that they have....and in a pretty influential way too. Recent blogs by Stringman and Dedo have focused on this.
Aum Shinrikyo ? Meddling with with tesla coils in the Oz desert?
This was the cult led by the scary Shoko Asahara in Japan and which killed several people in 1995 after attcking metro stations in Tokyo with sarin gas.
Asahara has been on death row ever since.
Just can't see how they could be in the Australain desert meddling with weather........was tbis before or after the sarin gas attack? Did they have a branch in Australia? Certainly most of the members were Japanese academics, so could have included environmental scientists I guess....
Absolutely respect your view and belief and admire your conviction.
Some of the comments on your blog have been supportive and I hope you can acknowledge that not everyone on this blog has no idea at all about christianity.
Also some of the comments were tinged with a bit of humour and not meant to be taken seriously. So I hope you also have a sense of humour and can appreciate that.
I agree with Red to a certain extent. When you think about it, the forces of nature that are holding a tree together so that it doesn't just crumble into atoms and the indescribably subtle reactions and constitiuents of nature that cause it to grow the way it does and take the form that it does are mindbogglingly difficult to even try to understand....especially for a kid in school.
So we tend to look at everything as a whole, as a finished structure...with various parts that have a function and reason and how they relate to each other. Sure as humans, the top scientists, philosophers and theologians have achieved a fairly sophisticated knowledge level of sub-atomic structure, chemical reaction, forces that either attract or repel, but the truth is, we are still a long way off from understanding the true nature of the universe and all the forces that hold it together in the form that it is in. i am talking of everything from gigantic solar or planetary forces - down to the sub atomic forces, molecular forces that give everyhting finite stable structure.
Whether we believe in God and that this whole universe and all it's complexity was designed and created by a single unfathomably amazingly powerful entity or whether we believe it has all come about by complex random events of nature.....the fact remains....it is so brainmashingly complex.
Those forces and reactions can only adhere to the laws of physics. Within the apparent randomness of nature, every particle and sub-particle that makes up the whole is behaving mathematically and conforming to a mathematically controlled force.
Think I will go and have a lie down after writing that.....
Has it not occured to you all that as we have all been putting forward our views and giving advice to Madame Jiyagill, she has actually not been back on her blog once!
WHERE ARE YOU JIYAGILL? LOTS OF CHRISTIANS TRYING TO CONNECT WITH YOU HERE!
