marranjo, much of that money is to find out things about earth. If you recall 30 years ago there was a huge jump in technology where many new products were called 'space age' and we all benefited by plastics, chemical compounds metal alloys and computers.
Inthecountryside do they employ helicopters in the city? Cost of a helicopter, pilot and technician comppared to a drone, truck and technician, I would expect the drone to be far less expensive.
EXRED, the word drone encompasses many different types of remotely controlled or autonomous aircraft with no pilot on board. Also called unmanned aircraft system or UAS.
Military drones used mostly in surveillance are high altitude aircraft with long range video sensors. Specifically designed to be minimally visible to radar detection.
Drones used in the movie industry are completely different. Usually multi rotor hovering style aircraft less than a meter in diameter.
In the United States, only drones under 0.55 pounds ( .0249kg ) are exempt from registration. As a hobby, it's the pilot who registers and any number of drones have the same registration number. If the drone is used in business, each drone has their own number and the pilot must pass a test and have a license.
Unless the drone is used with government authorization, all drone pilots must avoid flying over people (sporting events for example) and totally banned from flying near airports and any place where emergency equipment is used. The example there is the guy who was filming firefighters working a large brush fire. The drone was in the path of a plane carrying chemicals to drop over the flames and the pilot had to abort the mission. The drone pilot was arrested and fined $25,000 for endangering the airplane pilot and success of the operation.
Ocee, yes... Florida Power & Light (FPL) sends out updates with their billing to tell customers they now use drones equipped with high resolution infrared scanners that can detect faulty connections that are overheating and ready to fail. It's part of their ongoing maintenance. With the drones they can check more miles of wires than workers on bucket trucks manually using scanners.
Forever... yeah, it's so funny the attitudes of daears and flyme who complain about me and my blogs.
All the single/divorced women who raised children alone had to endure hardships... work hard labor jobs that were considered 'mans' jobs, plow fields and farm crops. Lets talk about that. I don't see them complaining to EXRED who 'does a mans job' of building her shed or gardening. Dual standard?
Thanks Fay... I don't see it as Elks fighting for territory as he's mentioned several times about depression and dyslexia. That could be a reason for his episodes of lashing out the way he does.
There are lots of bootleg FM stations in Florida. You can get a 25 watt transmitter for under $2,000. that with a small antenna on the rooftop of a 15 story apartment sends a signal good for 10 miles.
M4, I wish things were like that in South Florida. I pressure washed roof tiles 3 years ago and they have darkened already. Seasonal rains leave the tiles wet for days and that is when the mildew grows.
The place I'm living at now has a sealer on the tiles to reduce the mildew growth, but they become slippery when wet.
Ground Control to Major Tom...
