Right now, it's a statement made to the news briefing. No dosage was mentioned and no mention of combination with other drugs.
What I do know is people normally take this prescription medicine (hydroxychloroquine) for symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and to treat/prevent malaria. According to the website drugs.com, It has a long list of side effects including: Feeling that others are watching you or controlling your behavior Feeling that others can hear your thoughts Feeling, seeing, or hearing things that are not there Unusual behavior
It's been reported since Trump suggested this drug months ago the use of hydroxychloroquine has spiked. Obviously it sparked those fearful of getting COVID-19 to contact their family doctors to write prescriptions causing a shortage in the marketplace to those who have been taking it for what's it's normally been prescribed for.
Unless the president has notified the manufacturer(s) of hydroxychloroquine he would be making such an unusual announcement as he did so they can increase supply... maybe as reported a few weeks ago he has a vested interest and the demand would be so great the normal price for this drug could increase tenfold. Something to consider.
There are/were studies both in a Veterans hospital and reports from several countries all saying there was no significant difference and that some patients actually died from the testing.
If someone has some links to confirm this either way, please post them. Thanks/
Mercedes, I posted a blog yesterday with a YouTube video of Trump of doing a news briefing and while he acknowledged the world is working on a vaccine, he made it sound like America is the front runner.
just wish o knew how to do that chat EXRED, I'm sure there are videos on YouTube about that, but I don't recommend it, especially if it involves a trip to the lumber yard!
Agreed Jim, I have to be very cautious. Yesterday, I saw a worker with spray equipment going down the corridor in the condo behind me. He was applying a light spray on the walkway. That's a first.
Jim, always the first question is to check if anyone within anyone's circle of friends, family or coworkers have contacted the virus. Their answer is no. One friend living 40 miles North of me in a gated community of single family houses reported of 187 homes, there were 4 cases and one of them died. No other details.
UnFayzed For some reason I thought that you retired.
Honestly, I had NO intentions of retiring but, I made a promise to make a change by age 70. We were working weekends for months to renovate my Miami house and my job responsibilities at the cabinet shop were getting bigger with no room for advancement or financial compensation. The house sold much quicker than I expected and I saw a window to coast for several months, travel and basically take a much needed break. Travel plans got put on hold with no change in site. News got out that I was 'available' so I accepted the offer.
vix, thanks for the comment. Since this is a commission sales position I accepted, I'll have some freedom to work from home, visit clients and ongoing projects. I did enjoy the time off and didn't feel imprisoned from the stay-home order, mostly because I had some money in savings and didn't feel the stress like other folks with kids, car payments and a heavy mortgage.
Every night I read the statistics of my county for new reports. We have one or two good days and then it spikes up and there is little difference than we had 4 weeks ago.
RE: Really sad, a terrible loss to the human experience
I saw Google had acknowledged his birthday.
