Issues, issues... let me get you some tissues...

Palm, there was lots of local activity. Having gone to only one get-together, I heard it called a 'meat market'

hpy, I left there years ago and remember activity to be much the same.

rizlared, didn't they block the Philippines?
I'm pretty sure the young women were hitting on American men and the complaints were enough to be removed from the list of countries.

I do know they invoked an age spread... something like 8 years. So you couldn't contact anyone who was older or younger by more than 8 years!

nice2, I see you pasted the same response on another blog... just in case your comment disappears. Paranoid?
I have no reason to delete it, so if goes 'bai-bai' it wasn't from me.

My response:

1) I was invited here.
2) I came alone and invited no one. No mass arrival. If there was, I had no control over that.
3) reading old blogs I found numerous complaints about new members long before I arrived.
4) actually it was you who made pot-shot comments to my blogs as though I was the alien enemy. Thanks for the friendly welcome.
5) I have only one profile -- no socks.
6) I should name you the 'sock master' as I'm not sure if you've been booted and returned or require additional profiles to fit a medical condition.
7) I never mentioned the site I came from until another member had blogged some erroneous details about the final days before the site closed.
8) I stand behind what I say the statements in my blogs are factual, rarely do I have any conflicts with the other members.
9) can you say the same?

RE: The Newest Impossible Burger

I tried both.

The 'impossible' thing was flavor. It had none.

If you want an oil dipped Taco, you've come to the right place!

RE: What will CS be like in 2020?

For 2020, I believe there will be more blogs asking questions, more bickering about differences in personalities, the people who cannot create original blogs will continue to search Facebook and other inspirational sources to post here. Other than that, no significant change.
Happy New Year!

Do you have any predictions?

RE: Boy do I miss this guy

I always got a chuckle hearing people say he couldn't speak in public without a teleprompter. Can you see him looking for a teleprompter on this video?
Stumbling over or mincing his words?
I think not.

Chinese Buffet...

I love Chinese Buffet.

Me too, if it's done right.
There's a place a mile from my house in Miami like that. When a hurry, we do take out and they weigh the food and charge accordingly.
Specialty foods like shrimp and lobster have a higher rate. So those who fill the container with steamed shrimp get charged more.

Chinese Buffet...

Next time insist that there is no MSG.

Considering the effect we had, that would be nearly everything.

I insist, there won't be a next time.

Chinese Buffet...

rizlared, interesting point. Most of the buffets I've been to have signs telling patrons about wasting food and to 'eat what you take'
One restaurant (with posted warnings) will charge extra for food on your plate that's not consumed.

RE: What Trump is hiding

The sad part is that we Americans allowed it to happen.
The sadder part are those that refuse to acknowledge this and block the actions of those who are trying to stop him.

DRONEon episode 7...

Yeah, balsa models that can fly 15 feet are banned in a radius of 25 miles from the president. Tell that to you kid on Christmas morning!

RE: What Trump is hiding

Yes, what is he up to?
I can't be the only one seeing a brainwash switching back to coal energy, bigger cars, incandescent lights and steering away from solar energy. What's the motivation for this?

In recent news he complained about the LED lights that make people look orange.
Actually, it's only him that looks orange. The world is changing to LED lighting to save energy. Why would America not want to accept this change?
I believe it's because we don't possess the ability to manufacture LED lights, so let's downplay their importance and get Americans to switch back to incandescent lights.

Harb, that word wasn't in my vocabulary...

Cambridge Dictionary says:

waspish - likely to make sharp, slightly cruel remarks; having a slightly angry and unpleasant manner.

RE: What's the difference.

Blogs allow the OP the ability to delete comments.

Jim, my example was to show the switching of the Leslie speaker cabinet and the sound created, especially in the transition from fast to slow.

She said I was smug...

Luke, I'm expecting Jim to arrive in Florida this winter. That puts him a hour north of me. Maybe we'll get together for lunch and some photos to squelch and suspicions about use being the same person.

Fay, very kind words... thanks!

Speaking of suspicions, today Nice2/blue just spilled the beans on Multi/biff and that explains why I was hit first in her popular blog. Hmmm...

RE: The short & sweet of it

I have no way of checking. Is 3'-1" a default on new profiles?

Jim, I'm sure you mentioned it on a food blog, but it didn't fit the rhyme.

It's alleged I'll be away for a better part of the day and won't respond to this blog!

Fay, not sure of the location. I know that's it's near the desert and gets really hot in summer.

Larry, yeah... it's a big step. He's working for his brother. If it fails, I'll have the 2 of them back in Florida!

Too much paper down the pipe...

Mark, I've already upgraded about 100 feet to PVC.
The house is 60+ years old and the septic tank remains 10 feet from the house.
Somewhere in the 60's the city converted to sewer and did some upgrades in the street where it connects to main lines.
The first 50 feet is original pipe that runs over the septic tank is the part that is problematic.
It could be a few thousand to repair, but since the backup only happens every few years and the maintenance is less than $100 I don't plan to change things.

Anyone who buys my place would pay for a home inspection.
Should they ask me about upgrades, I'll tell them exactly what is underground.

All the houses in this neighborhood have the same type of sewer connections, so it should be of no surprise.
