Cherie my German Spitz qualifies as having long hair as she is a Nordic dog breed ..Pomeranians are related to them but they should be tiny whereas a Spitz is bigger. They have a double coat which was originally there to protect them from cold weather and at the moment due to lockdown her fur is very long.

Look them up as there are some amazing colours and they make fantastic pets though they are not as common as Poms who can be very yappy.

Wow a Titbits mag how weird. Perhaps they thought that the cover girl on the front would keep him company

Both the Daily Express and Mail were started by people who worked on Titbits.

What I found extraordinary was the comment from those that raised the statue to state that they are leaving it with the graffiti and some of the posters when rehoused as an example of people's feelings towards this effigy. I like that idea.

That's so sad. I liked the video that Celtic posted but everyone has their own agenda regarding this massive out pouring of feelings. I understand some reasons and have empathy, but it's getting so out of hand one wonders where it will all end.

It's one thing having protests, but tearing down statues all over the World when many of these "kids" actually have no idea what they represent is mind boggling ,and actually frightening in some respects.

I'm just as guilty I guess as the internet and contact with others are my learning curve and stop me from stagnating before I actually fall off the cliff so to speak. My comment re cobalt was more in connection with child labour but if it got people thinking not such a bad thing.

Seems now that things have escalated to vandalising anything that doesn't move, the protesters think they have carte blanche to attack all monuments good bad or indifferent.

Hence the point of this thread.

One has to look back to remember the past so that we can move forward and hopefully not repeat history, or we will never heal.

We can put a patch over things but a wound can be reopened if not treated correctly.

Cherie had an op last year and had to have the same op again in March this year as the ligament had snapped. She is fine though there is a weakness there and I have to be careful with her, but she is the most adorable faithful rescue imaginable and loved by all. Thanks for asking.

I often wonder if the ideology of some people has been indoctrinated over the years by families and possibly schools. Just a thought
