The Missing Mirror

@Edison, that particular toilet is near a "massage" salon and about 1 km from a senior high school. I used to see some senior high girls who kept on brushing their hair in front of the mirror but I've never seen one smoking. Hence, I wonder who could be doing such liter. Just maybe someone who's a usual visitor eats and smoke at the same time while removing fecal matter. I dare not think that they're doing some kind of short time.grin Thanks for this rare visit too.peace bouquet heart wings teddybear bouquet bouquet

Wow! Simply wow! A heartfelt thank you @Ashlander, one of the few women bloggers whom I adore and have since learned some English words. You've showered me with good words I don't think I really deserved. but yes that song is the last for this year. It's meaningful too as I consider 63 as in my twilight yrs. too. Though I hope I'd live healthy and strong till 80. Got the need to deplete the pension fund.hahaha

I can't deny the fact that the original is still the best. But being a Filipina and paying tribute to a great artist gone young, I'm sharing this. Pls enjoy as I do.

Great advice!

@Jac, good for you having grandchildren. At my age I wish I have too.
I haven't been out since the holiday began. I planned to go shopping yesterday but my son met with a longtime friend who's around for the holiday. He came home very late last night. So I'd go shopping with him hopefully today. Judging from my son's story, the road was quite busy yesterday. I believe there's some kind of restraint in spending the Obon like before as some infection spike and emergency measures were announced on the onset of the holiday. Being in Japan and not living in a big city and not fond of night life makes me feel safer though.
Your grandchildren are surely lucky for having you around, a diamond of experiences and resources.kiss hug teddybear bouquet heart beating

Frugal times

@La Fonda, no matter how late, your presence is greatly appreciated. Thanks for dropping by.heart wings That's a positive news from your side of the earth. That I can't say about my home country. Poor Philippines!! It seems with a couple of months or so of extreme lockdown where some violators who just missed wearing masks were sometimes mauled or shot, my country is floating because of loans and donations. Thanks to some benevolent countries and people. But it perhaps would be better if those money were given straight to agencies or organizations. With trillions of pesos in loans with no accountability yet it seems to be gone with the wind. Or those loans were not given at all. There are so many rich Filipinos who could just be hoarding their money for the presidential elections come 2022. Many are grieving for their dead, informed and jailed family members. Just extremely sad.crying

@Orz, hemp in the Phils isn't pot at all too. It's made into ropes and maybe some other things I don't know of. With paper sacks, so true. Iam amazed how strong paper sacks are here in Japan but not in my home country. The biggest paper sack I saw here holds 30 kilos of rice. So strong you can actually lift it up without breaking unless of course it's wet. I just think plastic products isn't the problem at all. It's the way people disposes them improperly.
Thanks for commenting in an otherwise dead post.grin hug

@Orzz, not sure if trees or grass is being used in paper bags. Either way is eco friendly as they are recyclable. But if trees are the ones being used up, we'll be denuding our forests and we abhor the outcome. And if paper bags are used, it won't be as strong. Some people are using the grocery tote bags and not sure if they wash it right after every use. Covid cases here in Japan isn't as severe as your side of the earth. Fabric bags are still allowed. Judging from the number of train commuters this week, seems everything is back to normal here. I was asked to be back at work since last week. Hopefully everything will be alright with extra precaution. At work , we are still asked to write down our body temp and there is still a shield dividing one side of the dining table in the cafeteria. Hope everything would turn out better on your side too and not forgetting my home country. We'll get over this as better human beings.handshake bouquet

Mama Cat

@Mimi, that's one big problem with people who have been single for a long time. But even those starting young do have some adjustments to male. More so with people from different cultures. You two seem to be meant for each other. Just like wine, you'll be better as time goes. Congrats really to both of you!banana banana cheering cheering thumbs up thumbs up handshake handshake cheers cheers peace peace heart wings heart wings heart wings

Mama Cat

@big, I've never seen a cat nor a dog giving birth in an expanse of a day. I've seen the giving birth one after another in a matter of seconds or even minutes but never in an interval of days. That mama cat must be having a difficult labor. I've only given birth only once but it was very painful. So giving multiple births must be very extra hard. Just perhaps she herself is undergoing too much pain so she couldn't right away care for her babies. When my pets gave birth be it cat or dogs, the bloody mess wasn't oo much and it was only right after giving birth. That mama cat must have some kind of infection. Hope she survive for her babies. And thanks for your effort in helping her out. And thanks too for your rare appearance.heart beating heart beating heart wings heart wings teddybear teddybear bouquet bouquet

Mama Cat

@Mimi, how's life of being a wife? Before being a dog person, I was once a cat girl. The last cat I had was almost 5 decades ago yet I still missed her whenever I see a similar color.
@Vier, I see you really love girls! Kidding aside, dogs and cats have unique contrasting traits but the mommas do show the human side of rearing their babies.
@Jim, I also love videos like this than seeing tik toks.
@General, the happiness we derive from having pets is incomparable. Just sad I don't have the resources and opportunity right now. Just contented surfing the net and watching videos like this.
Funny how the timing of you four, watched and commented on the link. You seem to have the same time frame! But I do thank all of you and the rest who watched the link. starting today, the night shift in the factory will be at work and so I'd be off to work. Hopefully, everything will turn out good. For months now, it's nice to be receiving the money without having to flex a finger but good times do have some endings. Wish me luck, though. Thanks to the four of you and those who enjoyed watching the links I keep on sharing.

To @Kp, @Jac, @Ash, and @Amicable, thanks for sharing your side of the earth. Got a glimpse of your world and appreciated more my own world here. Thanks for your rare appearances. heart wings teddybear teddybear cheering cheering bouquet bouquet

Frugal times

@Amicable, so true. Everything is added up to the price list. But what can we do? We can't by ourselves produce everything we need. But I've heard in some areas in my home country that barter system is doing well. Not sure though if they're asked to bring their own bags.grin

Frugal times

@Ash, sad though that 4 Phil army intel officers were ambushed. That's the news I've been following through hence I'm oblivious on the latest on the Japan side though I'm residing here.

Frugal times

@Jac, I did research on the yen conversion of both UKpound and USdollars. Surprise(if my conversion isn't wrong), I and the rest of us shld never complain at all(unless the quality of plastic material and size of the bag is different from the ones here in Japan). .07USdollars is approximately ¥7 while 10UKpennies is around ¥13. The size and quality might differ perhaps but the ones here can be even be used for even more than 10times.

Frugal times

@Kp, some yrs back when some supermarkets started giving out free plastic shopping bags, I just thought the economy is picking up. Although there are supermarkets which sell fabric shopping bags and plastic baskets I didn't bother to buy one as I always repeatedly those plastic bags. In the early 90's, I came across one supermarket in Kanagawa Ken which charges plastic bags. But that was an extra isolated case since the rest do gave them out free. It was only in 2010 when some stores didn't and every bag was 3yen and that was the biggest bag.

New hair do

@Bassa, I washed my hair too before I went there but a staff washed it again. The winding took much of the time almost an hour. I spent a bit less than 2 hrs. They used to have some candies and reading materials and sometimes refreshment. But yesterday they're all gone. And they don't have walls between seats. And even some air conditioning units were in operation, the door was left open. Other than that everything do look normal especially the price list. Just worried for all business establishments since all the precautions means additional operating cost. I haven't tried cutting my own hair but I can trim others hair. I used to trim my son's hair util he was around 9 yrs old. he got fed up with my styling because I was slow and took longer time. I don't have any formal training and one of my bucket list if ever is enrolling in a hair designing school.grin
