Think my new pict will keep the scammers away? laugh

I thought she was the most beautiful woman, she carried herself with so much dignity and grace. She is a Guatamalan native and was 87 years old at the time the pict was taken.

I saw the thread title and your name and became verrrry afraid.... hahahhaha

RE: WHY DO SOME PEOPLE LOVE CATS AND DOGS MORE THAN THEY LOVE HUMAN BEINGS ? IS IT RIGHT ?

Well the one thing you know you have is unconditional love from your pet... but the people I love come first... although I can't say that I would let my pet die to save a human I didn't know... not that I wouldn't, I'm just not sure.

RE: Yeah, yeah...smiling is good....

Every morning is the dawn of a new error...

RE: IN ORDER......

Hi HP, that was a pretty good description of my last encounter, except that he did portray himself honestly, was just a bit heavier then I had thought and it had gone on for over 2 months and we had spent hours on the phone.

I was waxed, plucked and moisturized and so looking forward to rocking his boat... this wasn't going to be a first date.... I knew this man, we had shared everything!

He picked me up at the airport and I looked into his eyes and saw... a stranger... and worse I had no spark, not even a flicker or chemistry. My first instinct was to book a flight back for that night or the next morning... but then I remembered him telling me about the lamb he had been marinating, the lovely wines he had picked up, and I just couldn't do that to him.

I stayed the 3 days and while I never did become any more attracted to him I had a nice time and we still stay in touch as friends.

RE: Just caught my 12 year old smoking..

Hahahaha, my dad tried this on me, not knowing that I had been smoking for a while... half way through the second pack as I had casually been lighting one off the other he gave up in disgust and threw the rest in the rubbish and told me not to smoke! hahaha

RE: How handy are you?

I have a full set of water colors, paper and disposable pallets... I've painted with acrylic and oils but have always wanted to try water colors, been putting it off because I don't have brushes and need to know some basic brush techniques... think it's time to give it a go!

RE: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Hi Breezee, I've always loved those words and they definatly give us something to strive for... but I really don't humans capable of this sort of love.

I don't think of envy as something bad, jeolosy is so much worse. Even in our most unconditional love, that of parents, we don't follow this guide, I know I am proad and boast about my daughter... in fact as I'm writing this I'm realizing that I really don't agree with the second line at all.

It kind of reminds me of the old greek mythology where you had to be careful of loving your child to much or boasting of their beauty or strength in case you angered the gods and in a fit of jeolosy they would take your child from you. The rest of it I still think is worth striving for.

BTW, so nice to see you finally!!!! You're lovely.

RE: How handy are you?

In a strange way, I think the kitten liked it... he never tried to jump out of the pram, or tried to get away from me... maybe mum was slipping it tranquilizers....laugh

My best halloween costume was Ursila from Disney's Little Mermaid. I found this great black crepe fabric, laid it out on the floor and cut a whole in the center for the waist and then cut 8 octopus legs. On the underside I stitched coated wire around the edges of the legs and then lined it all with purple satin and then used those little suction hooks you get for hanging things on windows and hot glued them all along the purple underside of the legs, once the legs were twisted up, it looked really awesome. I completed the costume with a black body suit and got some thick white hair paste that I added purple dye to and molded my hair into this funky purple upsweep... other then having trouble getting through doors and not being able to sit down... it was a wicked costume!

We used to have a really cool hippy guy that lived in our neighborhood who was a potter, he let us kids come around to watch him and often let us have a turn on the wheel, what ever we created he was happy to fire it and let us glaze it... I think mum still has a few of my creations!

Mum let me use her sewing machine from the time I was about 8, fortunately never had a mishap!!!

I was soooo excited when Volkswagen said they were going to re release the bug... I thought "finally they're going to give us a nice basic car again", but nooooo, it's all bloody computerized as well!!!! I'm with you on the whole disposable thing, I love old, fixable stuff!!

RE: What are you reading?

applause applause applause I loved both of those... they are both part of my "permanent" collection. I read so much and am swapping books contantly but there are the few, the great, that stay in my permanent collection!

I just picked up a book but haven't started it yet called Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. I initially picked it up because its over 900 pages and should keep me going for a week, but after reading the authors bio... I can't wait to dig into it!

RE: Tell us about your pets or what kind of pet you've always wanted.

No official pets just now... my lifestyle hasn't been stable enough lately to commit to a pet but I have my 2 lovely little feral cats that like to bring me prezzies....

RE: How handy are you?

Hi everybody, decided to join in the whole critter thing...

Trish your post brought back lots of good memories for me, I had all the doll stuff but never played with dolls.... I preferred "live" subjects. laugh I had a ginger tabby kitten that was the laziest most patient little animal in the world.

My mum had made me a dress with a dark navy background and white daisies, I loved that dress and thought my "baby" should have one to match. I made a little dress and took a bonnet off a doll and had that poor kitten dressed and in the pram proudly marching up and down the street, I was about 8 at the time.

I used to hang out in my dads woodshop and he was always giving me scraps of wood to muck about with, I made most of the furniture in my dollhouse and used scraps of fabric mum gave me to make little cushions and table clothes.

To this day I'm great at whipping up Halloween costumes and love doing it. I'm really good at fixing things if there is a "chain" to follow... this makes that turn, which is spinning this, which makes this go up and down... and hate that cars are all computerized now, I used to be pretty good at keeping my old VW running!

Brushes!!!!! how good is it to know about that, less then a month ago I had a mechanic tell me I needed a new alternator... I asked him to try cleaning the brushes first... and drove out 5 minutes later, haven't had any problems since grin
