RE: what's the best countries that invented the worlds most important inventions ?

With out a doubt the Scottish... there's even a book called where in the world would the world be without the Scots? These are only about half of the inventions I found!

Latent Heat
Joseph Black (1728 - 1799) Chemist. Professor of Anatomy and Chemistry in Glasgow University (1756) and then Professor of Medicine and Chemistry in Edinburgh (1766). Brownian Movement
Botanist Robert Brown observed small specks of pollen suspended in a liquid were continually dancing around in a haphazard way. He correctly surmised that they were being pushed around by the molecules of the liquid which were themselves too tiny to see. In time his discovery contributed to the development of the Quantum Theory.

Pneumatic Tyres

Do you believe in Romance... what does it mean to you?

Speaking of which... when is your next trip...devil

Do you believe in Romance... what does it mean to you?

Well Dr. Jeff,

I'm cynical about romance... if he had had time to think up that line I would have laughed in his face... the fact that it was spontaneous makes all the difference in the world. hug kiss kiss

Oh god I'm so frickin' lovey dovey tonight anyone with diabetes should stay away from this thread!!!

Do you believe in Romance... what does it mean to you?

I've only had two girl friends in my life until I moved to Spain so I really appreciate them!!! Thank you hug

Do you believe in Romance... what does it mean to you?

It's funny 'cause we had this discussion earlier and I was going on about how I think movies and fairy tales give us a messed up perspective of love and here I am getting all frickin' moony and goofy over a date with a man I haven't seen face to face. If anyone had told me I would feel this way a month ago, I would have bet them any amount of money I wouldn't.

I'm actually starting to disgust myself... frustrated

To anyone actually reading all this crap... forgive me blushing

RE: Really kinda dumb thread.

YES! There are nights that I get involved in so many threads... and am searching for where I posted to see what replys had been added and and and .... I get so confused and then think I'm talking to much, which I probably am, but the wind has messed up the signal on my cable and I've read all the books in the house and there is nothing else to do, so I keep posting and reading and posting and reading and....

Do you believe in Romance... what does it mean to you?

I agree completely, I hate ovet the top stuff... especially in public, like who is he actually trying to impress?

Thanks BEB, looking quite saucey in your new pict!!!hug

RE: finding anyone on this site...lol!!!!

I've only been on the site for a couple of months and have met some wonderful people and have started developing friendships with several who I would love to meet. It hasn't taken the place of real life but has added another dimension to it! So my recommendation is get involved in the forums... lots of great people!!!

Do you believe in Romance... what does it mean to you?

For those of you who have read my posts and threads in the past you probably get the fact that I'm not really a romantic, and quite a practical girl when it comes to relationships. Well this practical girl has been knocked off her feet! I'm going to meet a man that I have been talking to for over 2 months on Friday.

My original flight was supposed to get me there about 7pm which worked out great because he works until 5 and would be able to pick me up. Well that flight got canceled and now I'm arriving at 3pm. I called to let him know of the change and that I would be happy to entertain myself and meet him somewhere when he got off work. His reply was that no he would pick me up... he would just have to tell his boss that "the boats can wait... but heaven can't". If I heard that line in a movie I would gag, but the fact that it was a spontaneous response... well I can't think of anything more romantic and I'm feeling like a giddy school girl. Add to this that he's cooking for me... marinated roast lamb (my favorite) and has chosen a fantastic red wine to go with it and that he hopes I like champagne... I'm beginning to believe in romance...happy place

So on that note... What is Romatic to you?

RE: A Coffee Bean...

Ok, I think we just hit on your problem... it's all about YOU!!!! For starters you never referred to yourself in the thread you posted but seemed to thing all the replys were about YOU, this post was directed to me but again you thought it was about YOU!!! Are YOU starting to see a pattern here?

RE: Who wants Ambrose

hhhmmmmmmidea how to keep a man... inflate his ego 'till he can't get out the door! rolling on the floor laughing tongue

RE: Is it harder for a handsome man to find a date

I don't know if you do or not... to be honest your picture looks a bit stiff, you're not showing much of your personality... the guy I'm interested in and contacted because of his picture is on my profile page... I think you'll see the difference. Have somebody take some candid shots when you're having fun, show who you are...

JMHO

RE: Is it harder for a handsome man to find a date

Now you're talkin'!wine

RE: Is it harder for a handsome man to find a date

Well to be honest I can appreciate looking at a really good looking guy just a I appreciate looking at a beautiful woman... but that's not what turns me on. I look for character in a face, something that makes the man interesting, I have never been attracted to pretty boys, I prefer meat and potatoes to dessert!

RE: Who wants Ambrose

I resemble that remark grin

RE: WOMEN POLL.. Which kind of Men are u interested in
