It's 5:30 AM where you (/ Al,.. ) are/????? So I'm sure you speak with a clear head. We are and have been talking about the Israeli-Palestine debacle. You compared the Zionist bombing with Palestine bombing, And you compared suicide bombing in the same context. So Al, stop twisting.
If you refute the Cast Lead figures I'll ask you to present your "version" of them.
But, all versions of the story point to the same end.
Israel is forging an apocalypse in the middle east. Their, and your pig-headed approach to international behavior is appalling. If you\Israel were a kid in old school Virginia where I grew up you would have had the tar kicked out of you for what you profess to be "rules of engagement" . When you can toss off your cloak of superiority and "lower yourself" to the level of common human decency then maybe, perhaps, there will hope.
Whereas both side to this conflict have certainly contributed to the current stalemate it may be easier to understand if we view the casualties on each side as use these "numbers" to assign "proportional" responsibility.
No Alberta, you are lying, again. You, Conrad, ttom are running your pack mentality. This thread is about Israel trying to shake up the other countries in the middle east in an effort to expand. Everyone sees this and you people are paid to downplay the obvious. Poor fellows.
Responding directly to those words, the foreign secretary said: "This should not be a time for belligerent language."
He re-iterated his feelings in a message on the micro-blogging website Twitter, saying: "Time for bold leadership on Middle East Peace Process from the US & equally bold steps by Israelis and Palestinians".
BBC diplomatic correspondent James Robbins said Mr Hague's blunt language was a reflection of his frustration at Israel's refusal to compromise on settlement building in and around Jerusalem, and the Obama administration's failure to set a clear timetable for negotiations.
William Hague, who is touring the region, said it could "lose further momentum" if international focus shifts to countries like Tunisia and Egypt.
He urged Israel to avoid "belligerent language" and called for "bold leadership" from the United States.Protests are continuing in Egypt with the aim of ousting the president. Mr Hague spoke after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to "reinforce the might of the state of Israel" whatever the outcome of the unrest. "Part of the fear is that uncertainty and change will complicate the process still further. That means there is a real urgency for the Israelis and the United States."
Demonstrations in Egypt and other Mideast countries make progress in peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians crucial, European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said today.
The administration of President Barack Obama has been stepping up pressure on the two sides to resume talks, with Clinton on Jan. 10 calling on Israelis and Palestinians to “act now.” U.S. envoys Dennis Ross and David Hale, who is the deputy to Middle East peace talks mediator George Mitchell, met with the sides last month.
The dynamics could be complicated by the uprising in Egypt that has spread to other countries in the Middle East. Netanyahu said this week that Israeli leaders are concerned that radical Islamists could take advantage of popular protests in Egypt and elsewhere in the Muslim world and try to seize control.
If the time was ever "right" to strike a "Fair" and Lasting Peace in Israel, it's RIGHT NOW . Why? Because it would send a clear, positive message to the surrounding Arab nations (Egypt>>??) and the world, that they DO have a partner to Peace in Israel.
I know, "Good cop bad cop" thing. But if you want to talk Just and Honorable/Lasting Peace Lets start with the issues.
Settlements. I you think having IDF outposts littered in amongst the Palestine nation is "OK" then we're not going to get anywhere.
Jerusalem . I think we spoke to the "international city of worship" . I would like to see shared sovereignty. Or UN. With capitals for each. Gaza . Hamas must erase they "destruction" clause. And of course there's the logistical dilemma but if Hamas doesn't want to play by the rules, so be it.
I think the situation in Israel is at least "one" of the focus points in the Egyptian revolt. The rank and file Egyptian does not like the Peace accord between them and Israel. And they see the Palestinian suffering as partly their fault by the general perception that they are Israels "patsy". Speaking of Patsy,. Where is Pat? Stays up till 4 then sleeps till 2?

Unfortunately everyone knows Geo. Mitchell is in Israels pocket. So the prospects for a "Just and Honorable" solution are moot.
RE: Middle East Peace Plan
Al, your not fooling anyone.
