I agree. while it is hard not to defend yourself there must come a time when you realise that the person who is causing you the pain doesnt give a toss about how you are feeling and it is only yourself you are hurting.
Yes, If someones mails disappear it is usually because they have been discovered to be a scam artist, word of advice, never communicate with someone who gives you their email straight away or wants yours.

I can only speak from my own experience...I joined the site about 5 weeks ago and found the forums at first to be fun.I thought great a site were I can chat to others in a similar situation to myself.Then I noticed that ppl were making personal comments...just because someone didnt agree with them...surely adults can agree to disagree...
