What's your ancestry?

If I was to trace my daughter's roots... which would be next to impossible... she's supposed to have Cherokee blood in her &/or Blackfoot. How interesting! She takes pride in her native american heritage.

On my side, unless my father's family changed their last name when they came over, we're English. But according to the family, we're French. Not sure & the family is verrrrry "loosely knit".....

What's your ancestry?

I'm just curious... maybe this applies more to our "melting pot" here in the states, but I thought it might be an interesting thread.

I'm French, German (quite a bit), & Irish (also, quite a bit). Yeah, I know, 1 wussy & 2 fighters. Ha... ha... ha....

EEWWW!! My daughter does that all the time!! She also puts ketchup on her mac & cheese! I'm not big on ketchup, myself.

My ex-mom-in-law introduced me to putting mayo in my green beans! I know, I thought it sounded gross too... but it's really not!!

It wasn't always easy. It would've been easier having her father to back me up. But you do what you have to & we survived. I apparently did something right... & she won't even call her father "Dad" anymore. She calls him by his first name. Sad, really...

That IS sad... that's why I took my daughter away from our fighting while she was young. I didn't want her growing up hearing what I heard growing up. At least when I yelled at someone, it was clear it was her I was aiming at... just joking. My daughter & I are very close.

And it's funny... I hear her use these explanations with her own children. I'll bet it gets carried on down through the generations, huh?
