I also like making a lot of my own marinades. Although there IS a great salad dressing/marinade that's sold locally that I love to use to marinade a lot of my meat in. It's a greek salad dressing. And it is absolutely DELICIOUS!!
I also add a lot of spices to my meats. My mother was one who didn't like us being in the kitchen when she was cooking. So needless to say, we kids didn't learn a lot of cooking skills from her. And when she made meats, she usually fried them... all kinds. She made her roast beef in the electric skillet!
My ex-husband was a great cook. I learned quite a bit from him about cooking. Then my one ex-boyfriend was a really good cook too. Learned from him as well. Plus I experimented a lot.
And I ALWAYS had my daughter right by my side in the kitchen. She now loves to cook too. And is quite good at it!!
He tried to IM me earlier today, but after I saw who it was, I shut it down. I believe he's harmless. Probably does that (giving his number) regularly, not knowing it can push some women away.
My mom's gone, but my two dads are still alive & well. It's funny at the holidays... we ALL celebrate together. Since my mom's gone, they have nothing to fight over!
But if I remember correctly, taps was what made me finally break down & cry after she passed. Then they shot the guns. Brought chills to my spine.
True or false, it brought back memories for me. My mother had served in the US Air Force & when she passed away in December, 2005, it was played at her funeral procession. She's buried in a military cemetary, as will my father & step-father be.
Oh I love 'em!! But when we used to visit the buffets at the hotel/casinos, they had a bit of EVERYTHING!! I'm sure your tummy would be verrrrry happy!!
I vote FL first. Liver's not so good warmed up. Then it's over to AL for the salmon. After that, we'll head to my old stompin' grounds, Biloxi, MS, for some down-home cajun food!! FRESH shrimp!! YUUMMM!!!!
I worked at the vision center at a local Walmart years ago when it had just opened. They actually DID use rollerblades to get around then! I guess they stopped it for insurance reasons.
There are times when I bring in a bit extra for them, depending on what I've made. I know the one guy won't eat my food because he's a vegetarian. Well, that is, if I've made meat.
Once we were having a get-together for a holiday in our building, & we each brought in a dish. I brought in a crock of broccoli-cheese soup. They were all RAVING about it! When they asked me for the recipe, I said, "It's actually very simple. I open the cans, pour in the milk & stir!"
I had taken the easy way out & bought Campbell's soup.
Cooking is a passion for me. Even though my daughter's grown & out of the house, I still love to cook great meals just for me. Then I make sure I have enough for my lunch the next day. It makes my coworkers' mouths water!
Too Much Too Soon?
You got it!!
