When you see a parade with Barack Obama in it, Falliingman....and see people in the street croud turn their backs to him.....you'll know. We don't go in for violent protest here often. Quiet protest like this....is more to our taste.

With leadership like this....that is playing games with the democratic process (keeping debate in Congress on the stimulus package)....why should any REP aid the DEMs or the country?
President Obama and the DEM decided to go with a one party government in this. So? Hey from this point on....it is their fault or success from what I can see. You disenfranchise 54m Americans that supported the REP party in the election. What do you expect? If the CA Marsh Mouse does not come with the 4,000,000 jobs that President Obama says is the goal of his plan.....don't blame REP now or past. Blame him.
A little clue. Back when Barack Obama was elected...and the market continued to fall.....went from 12,000 to 7,500 where it is today. That was rich REP cashing out. Taking their money and leaving the country to safer foreign markets. I felt they were hasty and wrong in doing so. So hung and did a wait and see.
So? The DEM had to pump money back into the economy. Hence the stimulus packages. I am just not sure the CA Marsh Mouse will knows how to spend it. I hung around to see how "fair" they would be doing the package. Now I know.
I am mid road REP. But guess what. I am gone to. Yep, the patents was I was hanging on to to sell here in the country, to help rebuild industry with new products. They go to the highest bidder now....foreign or domestic. The small tech business I was consider opening, is history to and the 15 to 20 jobs it would have made. I figure there are about 10,000,000-15,000,000 REP that are in the same situation with either propertieary info or patent rights. Many more with small business that are being ruined. Those ARE thier American dreams, like Joe the plummer owning his own plumming firm was. That is what is hitting the streets and skids.
You are going to see one of the biggest Brain Drains in history of man, Sky. You are going to see 100s of small business calling it a day, Sky.
Many ways to ruin a country, Sky. President Obama has just started in his task of doing this. When the SW border is opened, the social service program begin to fail with overload, when American Industry is making less product than what it does today, when inflation makes bread twice the cost of today. and the CA Marsh Mouse does not employ 1 much less 4,000,000 .....he will be close to having accomplish his goal in this.
Then why try? If this report is accurate. It is a waste of money and time to attempt some kind of CO2 emission control. 1000 years from now we all will be dead.
I hate to say that.....but that it is the truth. Our children, their children and about 500 generations will be gone. Why burden the near generations with a cost of this? That is what is being done here. That and sharing the wealth with 3rd world nations via the carbon credit program.

Promised 48 hours to read the 1016 page document, REP were denied even to read the document during it writing in Committee. Then when asked for floor reading of the document in the house, were denied that. Then House leader Nancy Polosi pushed the vote date up so none of this would happen.
Would you sign a document that you have not been able to read? Or to listen too in a reading? That is what the DEMs are asking the REP to do in voting for the bill.

Florida got $10b...mostly for food stamps, health care, road construction, new schools.

Consider....Russia wants to be a player in Afghanistan....it goes and buys Khanistan with $3.5b to break the US base contract. Forcing the US and NATO to use Russia as a transit point to Afghanistan. There is no rules to that kind of geo politics.
Now Russia is a player in Afghansitan...can both influence the outcome and the length of the issue. President Obama and this new White House did not even have contingency plans for this. Yet they should have known it was happening....as the Taliban began to pressure supply lines Pakistan months ago.
I knew it was coming. Had papered for air lift continegency planning months ago. So we would not be in the position to relay on the Russians or the Pakistani. But President Obama would rather pay the Russian billions, than order a air lift.
What does he get with this? Will the Russians change their position on Iran? No. They are making millions there on the reactor contracts. Does he get a Russia willing to give up the Topol-M. No. Russia is not going to give up the Topol-M. Some out dated nuc...yes. Advanced systems, no.
Remember when he was complaining about GWB spending $10b a month in Iraq? He is going to find out the cost of war is. I menioned before to support a manned force in Afghanistan cost more than in Iraq.
President Obama inexperience as a Commander in Chief is going to effectively cost him any gains in the economy that he might make this first couple of years. He is already cutting DoD budget by 10%.....and most of its major new advanced programs.....many job loses...and less money in the economy to DoD contracts. So shooting himself in the foot there.
Most here are saying the stimulus package is not going to reach main street. Unless it does. Two years from now...samo samo economy and samo samo life for Americans....from a man that promise change and hope. A man that said get out of Iraq in 16 month....with it now stretched to 23 months (1 month short of mid terms)....and likely will be bogged down in Afghanistan trying to figure out the Paksitani NW tribal problem. And trying to solve the Iran nuc issue. I wish him well. But it is hard nut, he has to crack.

The recent word on the Iraqi withdrawal plan...is that the White House now has 3 plans...one for 16 month....one for 19 month .....one for 23 months.
Maybe we can put the McCain plan (100 years) in the hat....and when the girl in the skimpy bathing suit.....reaches in to pull out the winner.... old John's will come out a winner.
President Obama say that he now intends to leave enough forces in Iraq to take on a resurgent AlQeada of Iraq. No mention of troop level....but in the past this has been estimated at 35-65K. For comparison....out force level in South Korea is 37,500.
Looks like those foreign fighters that left for Afghanistan via Iran....if they come back to Iraq. Will find things a bit difficult.
And who says contingency planning for areas is not occurring?
The world got all in a dither...because under GWB some contingency planning for Iran was done by the Joint Chiefs. With a DEM Administration...vast planning is the norm....(e.g. big Gov't). doing planning of any and every event conceiveable. Those 300 foreign policy advisors have to do something.
Remember LBJ and the planning for Vet Nam? He had more plans than NASA had for the Apollo Lunar missions. Right down to the specific map coordinate of where ordinance was to fall. All from the White House.
My bet is with the force build up in Afghanistan coming. With the supply line pressures in Pakistan ocurring. With the Stan base closer...the White House military liason is taking banker boxes of plans from the White House to the Pentagon for the Joint Chiefs. The bailout into the companies for the most part ocurred prior to any bankruptcy being declared or court decided. E.G, how they spend that money of a bailout....is legally their to do...they wish to invest it into the business plan of a shining star... Presidnet Obama does not have the legal standing for this.

The reason, Gen Peatris was able to turn this around? The Iraqi people had a greater degree of trust in the United State military, than it did in the Islamic militia, AlQeada of Iraq, the foreign fighters coming into the country. It took 6 years to develop that degree of trust.
A favorite saying of President Obama is.....'we cannot do any worse than what they did'. A fair reply that any REP can make.... was that Iraq was going to be a nightmare, no matter what was done (invasion and occupation) or not done there (just turn our backs to Sadam and Iraq).
Sadam and his Batth party killing Kurds. Islamic militia attached to strong Clerics suppressing the Iraqi people growing desire for democracy. Shia vs Sunni. Odie and Udie. A nightmare if left alone.
What I am suggesting is. We force reduce in Iraq to a security level. To make sure that if foreign fighter return.....we are there to keep the country stable enough not to see it fail. Similar to what was done in South Korea following the Korean war.
We paid a price for this. Full withdrawal make the Iraqi gov't and the Iraqi people that are supporting democracy in large numbers...targets again for these foreign fighters.
So follow me a little. A full force withdrawal (President Obama position) can allow that to happen. If it does fail, we are in the position of either....going back and doing it again. Or reneging on the commitment to make Iraq democratic. Why pay this price a second time? Why lose face in the middle east by saying we don't back up exporting of Democracy?
That latter is very important to the Iran issue. If Iran feels that we are no longer in the democracy exporting business, then it will become even more aggressive in the radical Islam exporting business.
And if a Senior executive at one of these firms, came to them with a multi $1b revenues business project. Shows them how to do it. Shows them where the markets are. Shows them where the companies assets are to do this project. Should he also be limited to a $500,000 pay level, when he is making the company billions? Making jobs in the economy...doing his own economic stimulation for country.
Or do we reward his talents and commitments to the firms success ...by saying to him....here is your financial reward the same as others in the firm because it has been mandated by Washginton?
A star athlete goes to the market place (after college)....and gets $100 million of dollars for throwing a football, hitting a baseball, making a dunk. Yet a star in failing business has to take the hit with the firm? When he has part of the answer to save the firm?
Where is the motivation to the star in this failing business...to excell? To achieve? Why not just sit there...draw your %500k for 20 years and retire? Why go above and beyond?
College employment conselors now saying to college grads....don't go into business. Rather choose a gov't career, because under the Obama and DEM plan....it is going to be BIG GOV'T. So how many Gates, Jobs, and Wangs will end up in the gov't sector to this new Big Gov't we have? How much of our youth's creativity will end up...sitting in a Gov't office complex unseen and unrecognized?
Think that the bailout plan is not making a BIG GOV'T? Some are saying that only 25% of this $900b bailout is to stimulate the economy. The rest...the 75%....is being used as pork and earmark spending. And to make the FEDERAL GOV'T a partner in many state and local projects. That will ultimately will expand gov't at local and state levels.
So let us do the socialist thing here.....restrict the wages of executives of failing business..including the star that has the idea of how to lead his company in dark times. I have to admit, President has been fair in this....he also made the restriction on gov't executives as well. But the question is in a capitalist society should there be restrictions on wages and income? Especially when some...star athletes....don't seem to be restricted.
