I was trying so hard to stay off the God threads today - I have failed, miserable so n so that I am - There was a thread running earlier about Jesus coming back again which it took me all my time to stay off of - my view, now that I have started, would be that He would be totally abhorrent of the ways his teachings have been misinterpreted and abused over the 1720 yrs or so since the first council of nicea decided on what Jesus 'should' represent to the people

well, I dont normally disclose this but - one of my daughters died, 4 yrs ago and she was 29 n a half

I had 2 choices at that stage of my life - sink or swim - I chose to swim and embrace positivity - thats how I know for sure that happiness is a state of mind

Instead of going under, I put all the energies I could muster into being positive and that same year, I was 50 and signed up for university

you simply have to believe in yourselves people - thats all

In my humble opinion, we are all puppets of our religious leaders and politicians

They indoctrinate us from the cradle to the grave if we allow it - if I was given satisfactory answers to my questions, I would happily embrace my families religion, it would have saved me much sadness on my journey - alas, those satisfactory answers were never forthcoming

there are actually hundreds of contradictions in the Bible and it is beyond me how people can continue to give the Book any credit whatsoever - last article I read counted them as 508 or somesuch.

The vindictiveness and unforgiveness (punishing unto the umpteenth generation etc) is enough to put even a cursory reader off for life - the problem lies in early indoctrination - get em young they say but Im sure happy I started to question it all when I did

Yes, I think it is.

We can hold on to negativity or simply let it go where it goes.

I think it may be about learning to let go of stuff which troubles us, not always easy I know full well - but its when we learn to do this that we discover there were answers waiting in the wings all along

yeah, I did that one time - 3 children and many moons later here I am , back on the road again

right now my problem is that bottle of Baileys in the fridge, it has grown arms and every time I open the fridge door its imploring me and saying "hold me, hold me, you know you want to" this has been going on 3 days now so I reckon any min now Im gonna give in
