theres a brilliant book by Neale Donald Walsch called Conversations With God - it explodes the traditional christian concepts and gives good answers to the gender issues too and its funny as well - i think i would even go so far as to say that reading it changed my life - and in no way am i a religious person - i just like to live and let live and neither control nor be controled. One of my favourite sayings is from Marx "religion is the opium of the masses" i reckon the book explains how that state of affairs came to be - it suggests that we are all a collective god
Everybody I talk to is ready to leave With the light of the morning They've seen the end coming down long enough to believe That they've heard their last warning Standing alone Each has his own ticket in his hand And as the evening descends I sit thinking 'bout Everyman
Seems like I've always been looking for some other place To get it together Where with a few of my friends I could give up the race And maybe find something better But all my fine dreams Well though out schemes to gain the motherland Have all eventually come down to waiting for Everyman
Waiting here for Everyman-- Make it on your own if you think you can If you see somewhere to go I understand Waiting here for Everyman-- Don't ask me if he'll show -- baby I don't know
Make it on your own if you think you can Somewhere later on you'll have to take a stand Then you're going to need a hand
Everybody's just waiting to hear from the one Who can give them the answers And lead them back to that place in the warmth of the sun Where sweet childhood still dances Who'll come along And hold out that strong and gentle father's hand? Long ago I heard someone say something 'bout Everyman
Waiting here for Everyman-- Make it on your own if you think you can If you see somewhere to go I understand
I'm not trying to tell you that I've seen the plan Turn and walk away if you think I am-- But don't think too badly of one who's left holding sand He's just another dreamer, dreaming 'bout Everyman
Im a size 18 and as far as Im concerned if somebody imposes size restrictions then its simply their loss - Im very fit and even go hill walking - as I said - their loss not ours
maybe there wouldnt be quite so many criminals if your government spent less money on armaments and sticking its nose into other countries business (and oil reserves) and more money on education and health care for those not born with ivy league status - it would show a darned sight more 'care of its citizens' if it didnt keep sending its sons off to get killed in wars too - oops, sorry, thats why they let the immigrants have nationality isnt it - thats what its like in england too
Hi, you make good points. I hear so much criticism of Mr Bush from all over - isnt it about time somebody started a call for impeachment? some good pointers for cases against him can be found on the Neil Young song; Lets Impeach The President. There is apparently a guy called Barak Obama standing against him who represents some of the things you mention. I agree, lets do the right thing Trish
a good friend of mine suffers with schizophrenia and the prescribed drugs have sure as anything done him more damage than a toke or two ever did - quite a lot of schizophrenics and people with other mental disorders actually say it helps them - but im sure the people working in the mental health sector see damage from lots of drugs, not just dope and it must be quite difficult for the competent professional to accurately say just what caused the damage - i believe dysfunctional family situations are also blamed for the condition
Hi All, I think you have all made some really good points but I reckon 2mysterious made the magic statement here "Of course it's all about the money.... it always is."
It is more true than I/we ever imagined, have a look at this link if anyone doubts that its about the money - it has been for a long time, just like most or their wars, it is a case of money brings power and power is so, so open to corruption - they have to keep the prices of oil up to falsely maintain the economy and keep it all in the hands of big business
Hi, I can say that for me they are very true - one time, in the middle of giving birth and due to legally administered drugs (pethadine) I became aware of some part of my mind being up in the corner of the ceiling and looking down at my body on the bed - it was very strange.
i do agree that some of the new strains of weed are too strong for youngsters or inexperienced smokers and they should be used with extreme caution by young, developing brains/minds but this is because of the chemicals used to enhance the thc content - stay natural people and away from anything chemically enhanced unless you have a few years experience behind you and even then - chemicals are poison
whilst we are on the subject, did anybody see the totally biased reporting by the bbc on the breakfast news this week - the subject was 'Class A' drugs but they only showed pictures of people rolling joints and cannabis plants, oh yes, they covered that 'new brains' ad quite a bit too - it was baltantly out of order without a syringe or piece of foil or pills n powders anywhere to be seen - does anybody have any idea why this may be i did a drug awareness course last year which was led by an ex drug squad officer - the content of the progranmme resembled that course very much to my mind alcohol is much more of a threat to peoples well being - take a look at any city centre on any weekend night - what you wont see is the tokers - you will see lots of drunks and possibly lots of people taking them for a ride in order to feed their Class A habits but they are not the pot heads - they are all chilled round at their mates by then
