RE: I have a dream... A world with peace and bread for everybody.

It most certainly is my wish too friend wave

I dont understand why we all cant be friends - just because the politicians argue amongst themselves all the time doesnt mean we all have to follow suit

maybe its time we set them a good example and tell them to butt out laugh

the world has enogh resources for us all to live happily side by side and using our energies for much better ends - why do they set us against each other constantly sigh

who gains from these things - not us who wish to learn from each other and share with each other and to make the lot of our fellow man/woman a better deal - that's for sure

are soulmates born or do we have to work at it

I think we have to work at it too Stef

we can see the sparks of recognition sure enough - like walking past a person on the street (or a forum) most times its simply that but just once in a while you may walk past somebody and you get a tingle in your brain somewhere - but we walk on by and never get to know sigh

its like being in a relationship, a spark of recognition for somebody else gets ignored because you are committed to another - but when you like that spark, you want to keep it alive by giving it your attention which means you are working at it

RE: Gun Trouble In Your City.....How Bad Is The Problem??

I know, its a fools errand isnt it - the amnesties probably only bring up stuff like grandads world war two army issue whatever - these kids are playing with allsorts.

I actually used to do some shooting on a range near Denton, (made some good holsters too incidentally) they all had to be licensed and the guns kept in safes etc - there were some real classic pieces of equipment i saw, then they all had to get rid of them - at least when they had to be licensed there was some kind of control but now, its all just underworld stuff and very scarry.

Of course there always was the illegal side but I dont know if its escalated since they cracked down on the laws or not - I do know that now, there is no voice of reason in the arena its a very much us and them situation.

There is also the theory that they changed the laws to disarm the people.

are soulmates born or do we have to work at it

I hear so often 'I am searching for my soulmate' so what is this about - do we go through life hoping they will show up, maybe on a forum or some social event or is it about communicating with someone and building from a base of mutual 'likingness'

do they come along ready made or what? dunno

RE: Gun Trouble In Your City.....How Bad Is The Problem??

Ive got a freind Dave who owns a bus with a bar on and his business/work is taking people round the various nightclubs in Manchester and then home - he tells me he often hears gunshot sounds and there are many incidents which dont even make it into the papers now - its all gone a bit crazy from the days i used to go out in Manchester sigh

If these things are so everday that they dont even make it onto the news anymore then - no, I dont think the government are doing enough handshake

RE: Lasting love...Does it exist nowdays?

I think that between two people love can last if they can go with the changes - it isnt always 'up there in the stars' sort of stuff, theres the realities too but if communications dont stall then. yes, i do believe it is very possible handshake

what do you think this means

which part Poolak - do you mean the 'ungrateful to these teachers'?

I see this as meaning it is a sad lesson, to learn from observing in others, things which we dont value too much and eschew in ourselves and that we have to see ourselves realistically, maybe as others would. dunno its a shock to realise 'hey, i do that too' but i guess its the way forward - hahaha

thanks for the extra information too handshake

have any of you geard of Freecycle - you can find it in google. its brilliant and as far as i know there are branches in lots of countries. its a way of stopping things going to landfill and of getting rid of unwanted stuff which clutters your home but will serve a useful purpose for somebody else wave

what do you think this means

this is a quote from Kahlil Gibran, Im interested to get peoples views on how they perceive what is being said;

“I have learned silence from the talkative, tolerance from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet strangely, I am ungrateful to these teachers”

dunno

RE: DID THEY CHANGE THE COLOUR OF JESUS CHRIST SO THAT MORE PEOPLE GO TO CHURCH WHAT COLOUR WAS HE REALY

I dont go into churches myself but am wondering if anybody here is well travelled and could possibly tell me if the images in churches in different countries vary confused

I know the church i used to go to as a child had a whiteish Jesus - lots of things have been tried to keep the faithful committed, why not this - its possible - is this what Gilly is getting at rather than an issue of colour

RE: DID THEY CHANGE THE COLOUR OF JESUS CHRIST SO THAT MORE PEOPLE GO TO CHURCH WHAT COLOUR WAS HE REALY

Good on ya Gilly

what a good point thumbs up
