Woundology is about using the wounds -- the hurts, the traumas, the unfortunate events, the slings and arrows of life in general -- in order for the wounded person to manipulate others, elicit sympathy or compassion, to gain a measure of power and/or authority, and/or to claim allowance for their disagreeable actions.
Or are you a well rounded individual who would never stoop so low - or do people even realise they are using this sort of behaviour Have you ever had anybody try to use this kind of emotional blackmail on you or even brought yourself up short realising that this is what you were trying to do - is a biggie that, to be capable of self criticism
OK, so we have two ways of looking at this, on the one side there is the 'dead silence of divine inscrutibility' i.e. there is a god and that is that - or on the other side we have the scientific theories which continue to explore but claim no absolutes. It isnt absolute that we currently only see or experience in three dimensions but it is absolute that the search is on for the 11th dimension
I cant understand why people choose to live unquestioningly when there is evidence of change continuously before our eyes. We werent meant to live by ancient parables and our brains are capable of so much more than to be used for the mundanities of everyday subserviance.
But for people questioning we would all still be thinking the earth was flat and that penicillin could never work.
Im going to see Harry Potter this afternoon - am so excited and cant wait for the new book this weekend too - am very tempted to go and stand in the queue at midnight on friday
I just typed this 'petitions to get the american soldiers home' into google and found a few petitions - not much use me signing them from england but they are there for all of you.
Yep, support, support support - give and get as much as possible - Im all for that and for rediscovering the confident you that you were before it all happened - I reckon we come through it as much wiser people
That sounds like a nice dream Crazyice - I hope it comes true for you.
My best thing about sleeping with someone (oh distant memory) is turning over in the night and just feeling the warmth from their body - or somebody to warm your feet on when its cold - haha
I was talking with a friend a few weeks back about the problem with the bees and have since spent quite some time looking into the various reports and possible culprits. I dont think any of the theories are as yet conclusive but the link below seems to me to give a pretty viable explanation.
my dad was really strict Gilly, I was well into my 30's with children of my own and forgot one day he was there and said 'bloody' - i got such a look - its no wonder i delight in rebelling nowadays
there is a book that goes along with it but the free course looks good too.
yes, i agree Di, sometimes accessing the info can be really scarry - its one hell of a minefield getting away from it all before you even start the recovery process
Ok, so you have spent years being put down and demoralised and at every turn you have been belittled in front of children, friends and family - you have been subjected to emotional, financial, physical and mental blackmail - so where the heck do you start the rebuilding process?
i think there could be advantages to becoming a united whole world and scrapping borders everywhere - its a bit far out i guess but i see borders as barriers to global goodwill
I think humanity's biggest mistake is money cos its created the haves and have nots and various power struggles - and close on the heels of that is religion
erm, isnt the concept of the trinity also a man made one - even the king james version of the bible has been open to all sorts of meddling through the ages.
I understand the concept of the trinity but believe in it - no - thats not the answer.
I have to say though that I did thoroughly enjoy the Conversations With God books as they were a most refreshing move away from the organised religious concepts of a 'higher power' or indeed of an 'uncreated creator'. Walsch instead outraged some with his concept of us being a collective god which to my mind is cause for celebration in moving away from the dogmatic beliefs which have dominated wo/mankind for so long. I find his reasoning throughout to be most thought provoking. However, personally, I adhere to no one theory, I like the goodness and kindness aspects of most religions but find explanations aplenty in basic science for the things which once held mankind in thrall and penury to organised religion.
My question for God; when you said let there be light, who exactly were you speaking to?
this is copied from an essay for which i cant find a name but is called Evolving Mind and Brain.
A very important step in evolution occurred with the storage of sensory perceptions in groups of neurons (through formation of “synaptic” nerve endings and couplings between nerves with varying permanence). This neural memory became very significant when embedded in neural control networks – namely, the brain. Therefore, neural memory must be seen as the first step in the evolution of the brain and the evolution of mental capabilities.
.
The advantage of neural memory became apparent once the oxygen-energy cycle had occurred, organisms obtained mobility, had to search for food, and were led to intense competition. The recognition of prior sensory stimuli and their consequences allowed for the acquisition of experience and led to a higher success rate, whether in the search of suitable food or in conflict with other organisms.
.
The comparison of new sensory perceptions with already existing memory required the matching of the defining elements of the new perceptions with the memorized perceptions and consequent neural activation when such matches were found. This was accomplished when new perceptions followed the same neural pathways that had established the prior memory.Coincidences led to recognition.Recognition could have occurred through simple increase in neural activity (firing rate) of the new or memorized perception – and coupling into emotions (and later developed valuations, as by the amygdala) and leading to consequent behavior – as in feeding, mating, fleeing, or fighting.
.
Most sensory perceptions require a large number of neurons for identification and retention of essential perception elements (how many memory elements are needed for an animal to recognize a certain predator?).This led to an ever-increasing demand for memory in the brain.Obviously, though, this required selectivity in acquiring memory inputs. After all, we are surrounded by, and our sensors perceive, millions of impressions all the time, most of which we neglect or do not bring to awareness. The selectivity for memory input must be on the basis of significance of the perception, a form of valuation. One should expect that the coincidence of a perception with a strong positive or negative valuation led to memorizing. The mechanism could have been a signal increase (increased firing rate of the neurons carrying the perception) upon strong valuation – leading to memorization. In the human brain, valuation is contributed by the amygdala and some other brain nuclei.Memorization is guided by the hippocampus nucleus of the brain.
.
This is an example of the co-activation of the analog-signaling capability of the brain (analog firing rate corresponding to valuation) with the discrete (digital) signaling in establishing synaptic formations (the individual memory pattern).
.
Human memory evolved to include much more than only sensory perceptions. It allowed memory of emotions (as in valuation of perceptions), of mental “visualizations” (elements of own thought) as explained later, of verbal concepts (including the “inner voice” as explained later), of mathematical symbols, of space, and, quite mysteriously, of time or time increments. This let memory become the base for thought and consciousness, as explained later.
RE: Can love really conquer all?
I wish you luck with your quest and really hope that 'love can conquer all' - all I can say is to stay positive
