When I first jouned I was a bit daunted at the thought of introducing myself it was even about a month before i came back in and still couldnt but i have made a few comments here and there now and feel much more at home - so here is me trish.
I really like this site and thanks for all being here. T
but it only goes to show we need to know a person for a good long time before deciding to bring a baby into the equation - at least a couple of years i think.
dont get me wrong, i speak only from hindsight - i made my fair share of mistakes too in the choosing partners stakes but those first throes of love are inevitably overtaken by reality and its then that we know if or not the relationship can stand the test of time
What about, if you are thinking of meeting and have these fears, if you are so far along, surely voice/video chats on something like msn could help you to decide beforehand - and save a lot of trouble in the long run - just my twopennorth
yes, they really do sound the same as their cd's that struck me too - one of the best bands i have ever seen for professionalism. I found Dublin to be a really nice city but only stayed there overnight. It has a good feeling of history. We went from Blarney Castle right up to the Giants Causeway and I just loved the whole of Ireland - it is very beautifull
i was sent this link which i think you may enjoy from FunGuyWithBrain. it looks good and is film clips of Dawkins and other people talking on these issues.
yep i love the Eagles too and have a nice story - will cut it very short; my daughter said one night her friends were opening a restaurant and did i want to go along with her for the grand opening night - off we drove into manchester and when we pulled into the parking area of the big arena i was thinking wowee, must be a posh place, city centre and all that - we got out of the car with me looking bewildered at why we had parked there and she said "surprise mum" she put tickets to see the Eagles in my hand and in we went - for my 50th birthday she got me tickets to see Jackson Browne in Dublin (he is my real fave but not a band so doesnt count here) we flew over and had a really good few days -
depends what you are looking for but from birmingham you can go any direction easily, into europe or stay in england. theres the lake district or scotland of if you want something with more life why not try blackpool or london - whichever way you choose, have a good holiday
yeah - that sounds about right, im looking forward to reading it. his first book, The Selfish Gene was an eye opener too - as well as speaking of evolution in the genetic sense He termed the word 'meme' which is the equivalent in society of the gene in the organism - i really like his work - there is a lot of stuff on memes out there now and they are possibly even mentioned in this book - i will get reading soon
i havent caught the news yet today does anybody know the latest? i so feel for her parents and family, her friends and the so many people who must love her
im not sure of a proposition yet but it is going to be around the question of religion or spirituality, which gives people more hope, fulfillment, satisfying answers to their questions - sort of thing. Im not trying to prove or disprove either way but just to sort some of the illusion from reality -
it depends on so many variables im not sure where to begin to approach getting it in writing - is probably good that im having a gap yr but i intend getting this done whilst im just hanging around - thanks for your interest
Hi Belle, I bought a whole load (well, a few anyway) of such books cos i was supposed to be doing my dissertation right now but had so much trouble with my internet in jan i ended up off line for 3 months and late with all my essays - i just decided on a gap year else i would be only getting the basic marks cos of handing stuff in late - its good really cos i was sure as anything feeling the pressure.
At the moment im just enjoying a bit of time out and spending lots of it on here which is helping reduce those stress levels no end
Another one is Breaking the Spell by Daniel C. Dennett which again i have delayed starting but it poses the question of "how would a visitor from Mars explain human religions" - that sounds like itll be fun too
Better Late Than Never - Hi !
dozy sod that i am - i had done them last night
