I agree Wikked. The threads were a lot more interesting and fun back then. I believe that some of the people that were here back then helped to make them so.
I believe that they put them in lead lined containers and then cover them with concrete and bury them. If I recall correctly, they won't cool off (be safe) for a thousand years.
Iran having nuclear power wouldn't be an issue. However, what would become of the spent fuel cells. I do believe that the spent rods would make an excellent "dirty" bomb. I don't think that anyone can guarantee that the spent rods wouldn't end up being used for the wrong purposes.
Since you don't know what to do, it sounds like you wouldn't mind getting back with your ex. Is that really fair to anyone that you might start something with here?
China and Russia are going to sit back and see what we will do. I think that China is hopeing that we get stretched so thin, that they can take us over eventually.
Right after the last elections, when the Dems were going over to Iraq to seek a "peaceful" solution, they were told by the insurgents that they were not our friends, and no matter what the Dems did, the insurgents would kill them if they got the chance. No doubt, diplomacy is going to work.
The sad fact of this whole situation, Iran, Terrorism, is that the terrorists know that all they have to do to win is just keep on doing what they do. They know that the American people will cry about the cost being "too high" and that eventually we will cut and run and they will claim victory, which will embolden them even more. When that happens, 9/11 will seem like a traffic accident in comparison.
I think you misunderstand me, Jane. I was being sarcastic. Iran has been leading the world around by the nose with promises of diplomacy, while their nuclear program has been going full steam ahead. Very soon, they will no longer even pretend that they are willing to discuss anything, because it will be too late.
The Taliban doesn't want to dominate other countries? Al-Qeada doesn't want to dominate other countries? According to radical Islam, only 2 types of people will be on this earth at the end. Muslim and dead.
Israel didn't seek our help when they took out Iraq's nuclear reactor. The only reason Israel looks to the US is because they are surrounded by countries that hate them. Without the threat of US backing, Israel would be history.
The UN will do nothing just as they have been doing. A majority of the UN will side with Iran ultimately because they would like to see Israel wiped off the face of the globe also. Israel is the only democracy in that part of the world, and most of the countries in that region do not want democracy.
