RE: hey folks! what you all up to this weekend???

Looking at the weather forecast I may get out climbing on Sunday.

They say it might even reach 24C...shock

Exlnt John...applause

Talking about food at festivals, I remember back in 1972 we ran a bacon sarnie stall at the Bickershaw Festival. Nothing else but bacon sarnies, we had trouble keeping up, non stop frying for three days and nights.laugh

It's Glastonbury weekend (in the mud) again!!!

Glastonbury, arguably the worlds most diverse and successful festival kicks off in earnest today. Looking at the pics the infamous 'Glasto mud' is very much in evidence once again. Not that it dampens the spirits of the 150,000 revelers who have paid around £200 to be part of this quite unique annual event.

I've always thought, everyone should be part of 'the Glastonbury experience' at least once in their lives.

Have you ever been to a outdoor music festival...what were your experiences?

RE: What Have You Learned From Past Relationships, And Will That Knowledge Help In The Future?

Paradoxically a controlling partner is usually one who feels powerless in life, probably due to early childhood wounding. They then may devote their lives to having power over others in either professional arenas, personal life, or both.
In a relationship this kind of person is usually attracted to one who is easily controlled. Partners in such a relationship operate in the realm of power, not love.

"Where love reigns there is no will to control and where the will to control is paramount, love is lacking."

RE: Where in the world the health system is the best?

I do believe Cuba is up there with there very best.

RE: Its 37c here today! what do you do to keep cool????

I know, I have one myself, wouldn't like to try and pack it away in the confines of a living room though.uh oh

I don't think he realised just how big it was, he said when he released it from it's bag it pinned him and his g/f against the living room wall.laugh

RE: Its 37c here today! what do you do to keep cool????

Those pop up tents are fine once you have mastered 'popping' it back down.
A friend of mine bought one and put it up in his living room to test it out. After about two hours of trying to pack it away he gave up and threw it out of his fourth floor apartment window in despair.

RE: Ambivalence: Too Good to Leave, Too Bad to Stay

Power in itself is not a problem, just the exchange or expression of energy. It becomes a problem when usurped by a complex, usually activated by a feeling of fear and almost always unconsciously.

Paradoxically these fears come with the territory of...heart wings

RE: Ambivalence: Too Good to Leave, Too Bad to Stay

Well that's Shakespeare for you.

RE: Ambivalence: Too Good to Leave, Too Bad to Stay

No exactly that J, but words along those lines.

If I hadn't of cared at the time, or been indifferent to the situation I guess I would have acted rationally.

But love is blind and lovers cannot see
The pretty follies that themselves commit.
