That's true, I remember a friend of mine almost causing an international incident back in the sixties trying to catch fish that way. They were on a caving expedition in a remote part of Greece when he decided he would use some of the explosives the team had with them to provide the group with lunch, only he used a bit too much tnt. Within an hour the Greek army turned up and hauled the expedition leader away. The expedition leader wrote a book some years later about his caving life and he made it clear in the book he had still not forgiven my friend for the unfortunate incident.
The forums are a very small part of this site yet policing them must take more time and revenue out of the coffers than administering the rest of the site.
Could be more cost effective for them to let the forums decline.
I don't think so. Take a look at the Aussie forums, they have suffered the same fate as all the other forums and it's their winter. Anyway I've been on here long enough to know, the decline in the forums isn't due to seasonal reasons. In all the time I've been on here I've never seen the last post at the bottom of page one consistently around 4-6 hours. Something has dramatically changed on here mainly since the recent changes. Maybe the success in driving the trolls off here has made the forums less attractive to many. Or maybe many of those new members were indeed trolls with multiple profiles...who knows...
I think that proves my point, one member in the last couple of weeks. Like I said, intro threads used to be commonplace on here. I just tried to check your post history to find the thread you mentioned, but of late you can usually only view the first page of someones post history. Maybe it's just a glitch.
Great cover songs that are very different from the original.
Zappa does Strawberry Fields in a way that only Zappa could.Completely different lyrics, taking a swipe at someone who seemingly deserved it.
Poor old Jimmy Swaggart...
