The distinction between a hill and a mountain is unclear and largely subjective, but a hill is generally somewhat lower and less steep than a mountain. In the United Kingdom geographers historically regarded mountains as hills greater than 1,000 feet (300 m) above sea level
Kili is not technically difficult, just a long plod really. Most of the failures are due to guides trying to get their group to the summit too quickly and their clients succumbing to altitude sickness.
Still no mean feat to reach the top though...well done to the many who have tried and succeeded.
