Good for you Anna....I'll be delivering presents to kids whose parent or parents are incarcerated. It's a feel good kin of thing, it helps to ease the pain of going through the Holiday alone.
A very loud, un-attractive, mean-acting woman walked into Wal-Mart with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.
The Wal-Mart greeter said pleasently, 'Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins ?'
The ugly woman stopped yelling lond enough to say, 'Hell no they aint, the oldest one's 9 and the other one's 7. Why the hell would you think they're twins ? Are you blind or just plain stupid?'
'I'm neither blind or stupid, Ma'am,' replied the greeter. 'I just could'nt believe you got laid more than once. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart'
That is a very good question that I think is very mis-understood by most people. I believe there are 2 answers. The number 1 and foremost answer, the one God intended us to practice toward Him and to each other is....the fear of doing anything that would displease Him or a loved one, out of love for Him and them. The number 2 answer is the one most people accept as the number 1. Fear of pissing Him off because of His mighty power and His ability to destroy that which He created.
Christmas to me is a reminder of the birth of someone who loved me enough to sacrafice His life me. That kind of love and caring for another person is amazing....all too often, I take it for granted and forget just what the cost was to the person who gave his life.
