When I was a teen (decades ago, in a land far, far away), I was mistaken for Don Everly, of the Everly Bros. Now, decades later, I guess he looks more like me.
The really great thing about cold and snow if you are a retired person...you don't have to go out in it if you don't want to. You can stay inside, in bed and snuggle and weld to each other if you want to; come up for air and do it all over again. That is, if you still can.
It's too bad you live in BC,HG, I love to cross country ski, but I don't think I'd make much past the Ambassador Bridge. Now if you were in Windsor, or perhaps even Toronto, I'd be willing to knock on your door.
I think you should try to reason less and exercise faith more. You have a heart, a stomach, lungs and ribs; you can not physically see them in your body, but that does not alter the fact that they are there. If you were to really stop and think about it, virtually everything we do in life requires some sort of faith.
When you go to sleep, faith tells you that you will awake again. If that were not so, you would never go to sleep again. when you get out of bed, faith tells you there is a floor to put your feet on etc etc.
Everybody has a soul, if you did'nt,you would not exist. The soul is what indwells the earthly body that we all have. Our earthly bodies are nothing more than shells in which our spirit lives. When the body wears out ie, ages, it stops functioning and the soul leaves this shell. I believe, through faith, that the soul never dies, but lives on. But that is my faith, your faith may tell you something else.
Faith tells me George Washington was the first President of the United States, even though I never personally met or spoke with him. I go to bed at night, with faith that I will awake in the morning and the world will still be here; even though we are doing our best to destroy it with the decisions we make every day. Faith tells me there are people who will disagree with what I am writing, but their lack of faith does'nt make it any less real or true.
I did'nt see or hear anything from Obama that would sway me to his side. I still don't believe he has what it takes to lead this country. He was constantly agreeing with everything McCain said. I heard very little originality. Having said that, I am still suspicious of McClain, but there are no other options.
You can always vote for me though, I can and will honestly tell you that I can't do a thing by myself to change the economy, bring our warriors back home, or lower gas prices.
I can and do shop more wisely and economically, I pray for our soldiers and I bought a mountain bike. The rest isut of my hands.
Paul Newman has always been one of my favorite actors and has had many great films in his long career.
Two of my personal favorites are : The Secret War of Harry Frigg circa 1968, the year after Cool Hand Luke. In it, he plays a army private who is so adept at escaping from military prisons that he is chosen to try to free 5 US Generals being held by the Germans and Italian army. He is given the rank of General to achieve this because of the fear the other generals would not let themselves be saved by a private. In the opening scene, he is discovered hiding in the trunk of a car. When the MPs open the trunk he says, "Do you mind closing that, I'm trying to develope pictures here!"
My second favorite is close to the end of his acting career, Nobody's Fool circa 1994 : with Jessica Tandy, Melanie Griffith and a un-credited Bruce Willis. He Play's a working stiff who has made a lifetime of bad decisions. But he un-expectedly has a chance to make right on some of them, when his estranged son and grandson-drop into his life. I think it is the best film of his later career and he was given a oscar nomination for his performance.
RE: I don't like to spend the rest of my life alone I need to share, to be loved and love in return.
You're sounding as bad as me.
