Good morning Indy, long time no talk to. How is the room coming? Did you notice how Obama kept saying, "I agree with McCain on that," all the way through the debate? If Obama agrees with McCain, then what the hell do we need him for? I don't think the man has a original thought in his mind.
All of that may well be so, but did you notice that whatever McCain said, Obama agreed with? If McCain says it first and Obama agrees with it, why is Obama even running? He is already acknowledging McCain's superiority on almost every issue.
Of coarse there is, It would be a terrible waste of space and even space management otherwise. The question should be...Do they all look, walk on two legs, and are as mindles like Croatlus? Let us hope and pray not!
A bit better...ask me this afternoon...I felt ok in the am yesterday and then crashed again in the pm from my cold and was in bed at 8:00...How's you g/f on this lovely Saturday???[/quote
You can thank Bama Belle for the cold, she's had one for over two weeks now.
Good morning Hugz: All I want for Xmas is 1 waitress with nothing on it,,,with no batteries needed (for pacemaker). Oh yes, an instruction manual, My memories been failing me lately...I think I have 'old timers disease'
How can anyone say we don't fight wars on our own front right here in the good old USA? Any one who has now, or ever has had a wife or lady friend that he wakes up next to can attest to that!!! YES! I do believe we are stretched too thin there. More attention needs to be made here at home, where it will no doubt be more appreciated anyway.
He will do ANYTHING to win.....[/quote Good moring Hondo....too bad that is not entirely true, if it was. he could be persuaded to return to Africa and run for President there. I would think he would be a little more knowledgable of his surroundings, he doe's not have a clue of his own about the US!
You ask a good question JB....I just told Ambrose I have to do for awhile to take care of business, but in a nutshell, I will try to answer this way. The Church is not trying to change what the Bible say's, but I think more accurately, it is trying to better interpret it's meaning and application.
Hi again Jeff...it is good to finally learn your last name. I think you just hit upon the point I was trying to make. As an athiest, Pullman's view of Christianity is by nature of the beast so to speak, 360o from a Christians, and his book is a reflection of his belief. Being a athiest, christian, Buddist or what ever, doe's not mean they are good or bad people because of their opposing beliefs.... It just makes them differnt from one another! That is not a bad thing per se. Whether you believe in God or rose petals, doe's not alter the fact of either existance, one way or the other. Your perception is your perception, it matters not that it differs from mine.
You can respond if you like Jeff, this is ss and bill paying day for me, so I will disappear for awhile.
religious leaders still hold to the belief what happens in a closet should stay in the closet.... but by all means continue giving tithes to your friendly, local locations of worship.[/quote
Good morning fireliter....that is a true statement, but changing as we speak. The Church overall is finally seeing the light in most cases and trying desperately to change their image....the smart ones anyway!!
That is my point JB, neither God nor His Church want to destroy His children or Church their 'flock'
Pullman is again, an ATHIEST who does not believe in God. He want to try and prove that God does not exist and to destroy a Christians belief in Him. That is as simple as I can explain this. I am not a theologian although I was briefly a student @ William Tynndale College, until the School ceased to exist several years ago.
First off, I have to say, I have all the dvds of J K Rowling, Pullman, Eliot and Tolkien (who was a Christian according to his son), but have not read or own any of the books, except for Tolkien. I have the Trilogy, but have only read the Hobbit and a portion of Lord of the Rings.
In the 'Compass' the Magistrate represents God, and the children kill him in the end! As I said I have not read the books of any except Tolkien. What I know about Pullmans work is a synopsis of the whole story plot. Before 'Compass' was released to movie, Pullman was interviewed and that was when he made his comments about his athiesum and reason for writing the book. It was to counter Eliots view!
Good morning Ambrose! Philip Pullman, claims he is a avid athiest and in a interview, he stated that The Golden Compass is a opposite position to Chronicals of Narnia. What is really funny, haha, is if you see the dvds, at a glance, you can't tell much of a difference between the two. However, from my understanding, 'Compass' is a planned 'trilogy' and in the final movie or episode, the children KILL GOD!
All three Authors write about good vs, evil, but from different stances.
RE: McCain ad declares he wins the debate (12 hours before the debate begins)
Good morning Ship! How are you today?
