If he didn't bring the subject up I would suggest that we sign a prenup even if I didn't have money or anything of value.
My divorce in 1971 didn't give me anything of monetary value other than $125 a month for child support even though he had money in the bank. He drank every last dime of it and left nothing to his daughter or me.
If the money was still in his bank when he died his daughter would have inherited all of it.
