Just to clarify, I can't be sure that no one turned up as the place was packed, someone could have come and seen that there was nothing happening and left again.

All I can say was that I was there for about an hour and didn't see anyone I knew or any area set aside for it. It might have been a bad choice of venue as it was packed and very noisy and therefore hard to identify anyone!

That's a pity Vinny as Galway should be rockin' but it's probably not a great time of the year for people to travel, probably be mainly Connacht based I'd say.

But you see that's the problem! everyone acts in the local interest only and so the national interest gets neglected. He might have been elected locally but as soon as he sits in government he is responsible to ALL the people of the country, not just his constituents. Sometimes governments have to make decisions for the whole country that aren't popular in one locale, if they don't do that then nothing gets done.

Can't agree with you there, it's localism not party politics that has ruined this country. If everyone did only what was popular locally then nothing would ever be done in the national interest. Willie had no problem voting to close things in other constituencies! Countries that do well, like Germany and Switzerland, have a strong sense of 'the nation' but countries like ours focus on the local all the time, and pay the price!

Well spotted! the bane of my life, I think it's because maybe women have less spatial skills than men (generally speaking) hence their problems parking ext.

These are the same women who stop at the door on the way out of the shop and put up their umbrellas, thereby blocking everyone again!
