I don't disagree about your general point and I wasn't trying to get the US off the hook over the invasion but the fact remains that most Iraquis were killed by other Iraquis. It's not a cop out to say that it's just a statement of fact.
Can't agree with your last sentence, it seems to me that we remember the crimes committed by states more than those committed by people.
I don't know how anyone could object to full body scanners, as they make getting into an aircraft much safer, only the paranoid or someone who never flies could logically object to them.
As for Iraq, the vast majority of Iraquis killed have been killed by other Iraquis, not by Americans.
Anyone who can say that about '1984' either hasn't actually read the book or doesn't have any clue about the country they live in.
Let's not forget the guys on the plane that crashed into the field. The passengers led by the rugby player who managed to re-take control of the plane from the hijackers and prevent it from being crashed into the capitol.
Was always called a 'hurl' in Galway. I had a brief hurling career myself, I showed remarkable talent....until I realised a hurl across the knee was so painful. There ended my career (I don't like pain lol).
The thing that struck me was that people here felt it was an attack on themselves to a large extent. Not surprising given our links with America but still very powerful.
I agree, corkgizmo could be onto something! Mind you I'm 46 and I'd like to be a father some day, not just yet though, when I'm older maybe, like I'd enjoy collecting my son/daughter from a teen disco when I'm 80 and everyone would think I was their grandfather!
If you go into a home in about 40 years' time I will visit you every day on my way home from work. I will bring you sweets and grapes and things and generally make sure you are alright, so you need not worry about anything!
RE: Occupations
Apart from the fact there's no occupation in Ireland!
