Totally disagree....the cost of it is totally outweighed by the benefits of two such high profile visits (Queen and Obama) Failte Ireland couldn't pay for the kind of advertising we will get out of it...also we need all the good publicity we can get right now. I am no fan of the Queen but we need to show maturity as a nation and move on.
That comment wasn't aimed at you, in fairness you didn't start the whole men versus women debate....you just responded to a comment that was made with your opinion on the issue. Wouldn't blame you for being disillusioned....totally understandable if the threads with constant mentions of men looking for NSA fun are anything to go by.
Its depressing to see the men versus women nature of this thread....lets face it, both men and women in Ireland are particularly poor at being romantic.....we haven't a clue. Its not a male versus women or women versus men thing....its a cultural thing that both men and women should be aware of.
Not at all, you are neither naive or stupid, its the way we are built as humans...there is a shallow aspect to all of us....its just the way we are...its human nature i think. BTW I'm an optimist by nature....despite what may be thought of my post.
