Only (best advice I'll give) is change to WPA/2 and use symbols, letters and numbers...and keep it long. Otherwise someone will crack your connection...
Load of nonsense...buy a netgear...d-link etc as I've said....To crack a wifi takes minsutes....<----it's illegal but very possible...and the signal doesn't matter...follow the videos...and learn about other OS's outside of bad billy boy gates...(do yourselves a favour folks...)
The best and most secure way to stop people from 'cracking' not 'hacking' your internet is using symbols in your pass word '*+@_\ , numbers and letters (upper and lower case)....and staying with WPA2....<---probably could be done with rainbow tables<--but I doubt it
Hackers are actually good people (the press have it wrong) crackers are evil....
The only reason I'm telling people is to protect themselves (cracking wifi is illegal)....
Basically change your WEP to WPA2 and keep it as long as possible
Trust me....follow the video's...download the CD's (from the links)..and buy a decent wifi dongle (from what I listed before)..

Basically with 'aircrack' all you'll need to do is type into a shell/terminal is basically this...
airmon-ng airmon-ng start wlan0 (could be ath0)<---wait until it say mon mode enabled...
