Hello Mr P -- Mali - Location and History
Maili is a West African landlocked country which, before independance in 1960, was known as French Sudan.

In the late 19th century, during the Scramble for Africa, France seized control of Mali, making it a part of French Sudan. French Sudan (then known as the Sudanese Republic) joined with Senegal (also French) in 1959, achieving independence in 1960 as the Mali Federation. -- Shortly after that, following Senegal's withdrawal from the federation, the Sudanese Republic declared itself the Independent Republic of Mali.


After a long period of one-party rule, a 1991 coup led to the writing of a new constitution and the establishment of Mali as a democratic, multi-party state. Tha main laungage is still French and the Currency, the Franc. An estimated 90% of Malians are Muslim (mostly Sunni and Sufi),

What do I think?

Not our problem and never has been - History shows that the French colonised Mali from 1892–1960 and granted them independence. Therfdore The French have alwasy ben our natrural enemies and they should take all the obvious political crap instead of us which would inevitably arise if we were to become involved now.

Redex wrote Mitigating circumstances is what defence lawers do. I do not know wether true or false, but she does deserve to go to prison that stuff on the streets ruin lives.

Yesterday an expert on the Bali crime scene said Sandiford was a 'familiar face' in the local drug world and mad repeated trips from India smuggling hashish.
Kathryn Bonella, author of the book Snowing in Bali, about the island's criminal underworld, said Sandiford would fly in from Britain via India.

Speaking to the Times she said: 'She used to bring in from India and sell it to one of my contacts, but had recently moved into cocaine.
'I know a number of big western drugs dealers who fled the island when they found out she had been busted and was turning rat.'
Sandiford's appeal is expected to launch within seven days. It could drag through the courts for years and throughout that time she knows the death sentence will still hang over her and could finally be carried out.

IMO If those comments can be substantiated as facts it seems she would have known the consequences could be the death sentence.

I agree with everything you have said and especially over ID cards.
Last time it was proposed I and at least 20 other pensioners copied what I read, went to the police station and officially recorded our
objection and the intentions to do exactly as you said. The Supoerintendenet atarted mumbling something so we said - Don't give us garnage you have GOT to accept this and if you don't like it, arrest us now, as we have stated our intention to break the law and one of your duties is prevention. With 20 of us and only 6 cells 4 of which were occupied he had no option and from what I gather there were a few more people who did what we did and sent a copy to their MP's too.

As you say other countries left and are OK so we would be - The Tories and all pro Euro-ites play the fear game and some try and get hard to get us to keep submitting to the European dictatorship for that is exactly what it is, but it only works on the myopic, the gullible and apathetic.

As you rightly say the PM is attempting not very subtly to blackmail the electorate on the cheap. -- BUT The PM and his Tory Cronies carrot dangled the promise of the referendum vote before 2010 if they got in - Then they made excuses as to why it could not be done.

It costs the UK £57 Million per day and growing, for membership and we are not allowed to make our own laws and policies because they were sold out by the Tories in the firat place and that was not rectified under Blair & Brown. --- Much of what it costs for FULL membership if our previous politicians and the current scum had the guts to say NO to being Goverened by Brussels could be given back to the low paid and Pensioners in the UK which would reduce the Have to Have not ratio which the Tories make noises about whenever elected.
BUT - Being two faced and true to their original divide & rule philosophy they make certain via the treasury that it has never been done in all the time I have voted and I have never at any time voted Tory

UKIP opened up that whole debate BUT have been labelled troublemakers by the Pro EU Labour and Tory lobby who have control over the media, just like Trades unionists were blamed for all the troubles when Thatcher destroyed whole communities. -- She made sure her heavies infiltrated peaceful factories and planted undercover Tory financed troublemakers just so as to exercise that control by causing trouble whwre none had ever existed for over 100 years. I know that first hand as it happened in Thanet in the 1970's and 80's in at least three thriving and productive factories.

We are a laughing stock now as a nation and weak too due mainly to all our services cutbacks and the decimation of the industries that supported them. That is the direct result of Labour and Tory government and the money being wasted on EU membership.
