Yanno what though constanza? Even though my father-in-law and girlfriend were murdered...and by the way...the girlfriend was someone I grew up with and knew my entire life, I learned a very long time ago that you cannot harbor hate, bitterness and/or unforgiveness. It will make you very old and very ugly long before your time. It will literally suck the life out of you...I still cannot say that I am pro capital punishment, because I still see both sides of the coin.
But shell, is that not the same as a death sentence, only at the continuing cost to the tax payers? I make that statement to you with all due respect ma'am.
The question of capital punishment will always be highly debateable. My Father-in-law and his girlfriend were both brutally murdered by her ex-husband. The man was given a sentence of life in prison, which is where he died. I can see both sides of the debate.
On the one hand, is it better to let the guilty party remain alive so he has to remember the evil he did? But then again...some that do these types of evil have no conscience, so perhaps they will never be bothered by their actions.
On the other hand...we all pay for the cost of housing, clothing, feeding and medical attention for those incarcerated. The amount of money it costs is staggering. It is hard for me to realize there are people that are in desperate need of food, shelter, medical attention that are citizens that have never done such evils as those behind bars. Just some thoughts for those of you to ponder who wish to do so...
