Well everyone that is a US citizen has civil rights. Unless they were revoked because of some crime they committed. But that doesn't mean they are treated very nicely. Some whites are treated bad by others, some blacks are treated bad by others, some Jews, some Muslims, etc. You get my drift. I think it is the way we were raised and our reaction to it. For some they can't see past the culture of the other person. Then there are people that are like me who will except everyone for who they are. And it is not just white people treating others badly. I am sorry but I think Sharpton is a bigot. Went out with an Asian gentleman one time and his family hated me.

A lot has to do with how well you know this woman. Have you seen her? Have you talked to her before? Is it a blind date? If you have seen and talked to her before this date then can bring flowers. Just something small. A kiss on the cheek would be fine if you sense she likes you and wants to see you again. Will never forget this one gesture made by a guy I was dating. We had dated for a couple of weeks. He bought 11 red roses and one white and put on the card "There is always one that stands out in the crowd and you are that one" Corny I know, but sweet too and something I will never forget.

Sorry Gilly have to agree with the others. She should leave. I grew up with alcoholic parents and know what it's like. Left as soon as I could. Yes know it is a disease but if he won't do anything to help himself then nobody can help him.
