That's been the attitude I've had for the most part when I've been stood up (which has been often)...at least after I get over being hurt...lol Every time it's happened it's made me wonder what's wrong with me...what is it about me that would cause them not to show....then I give myself a good shake and get angry and say it's not me it's them. There is no second chance if I'm stood up...especially in this day & age with cell phones....it only takes 2 minutes to think of the other person and give them a quick call.
Hey...I need power run out to my garage....lol (gee, I'm usually asking a guy about that...lol)
Guess I can add that I now know how to cut tile from my own kitchen remodel... I can sand & stain.... I can scrape mastic off a hardwood floor...lol I can paint...walls that is.... I can mow my own yard.... I can even take my vaccum apart & replace the belt & agitator (at least when it arrives I can)....
I'm an only child.... Lived in Guam when I was a year old.... I'm a Navy Brat... Grew up in San Diego... Lived in Hawaii for 3 years while I was still in high school... Started playing the flute in 5th grade.... Broke my left arm in 5th grade.... Broke my left arm again in 10th grade... Ran track in high school.... Was drum major my senior year.... Graduated CSF... I can sing, and have sung solo's in church.... I like to dance...line dance...2 step...free style... I don't smoke...don't drink (never have)... I do have 2 kids even if they don't want to acknowledge that they have me as their mom... Certain things that have been said about me have hurt so much that they're still hidden deep inside... I'm too trusting, which gets me hurt too often.... I expect alot out of myself.... I crochet - want an afghan?... I cross stitch... I can drive both standard & automatic.... I'm not afraid to get in there & do what's needed, like head up the ladder to clean the gutters... Not afraid of snakes, or rats.... Currently have 2 cats.... Used to have a malamute.... Revamped the web site for my current school & the district.... Independent... Really miss having someone in my life.... Getting really close though to giving up trying to find someone....
I would consider myself an "up for anything" type of date, have even done spontaneous "hey, you wanna meet at..." during a first time on line conversation. I do agree however that sometimes it can feel like a job interview...meeting for coffee or dinner. I think it'd be more fun if we met at the skating rink & got to know each other while trying to stay on our feet.
I have a tendency to want to meet as early as possible, and have been known to say hi and take up the challenge of "how adventurous are you" and go ahead and meet. And it's been split 50/50 I'd say... about half the time I don't feel an initial physical attraction & just let it fizzle away and half the time I do feel an attraction & would like more contact...but they don't feel it. And it's usually been after the initial meeting that I'll get a message saying I'm "friends" material, but they didn't feel any "romance" towards me. And apparently on the half that I didn't feel an attraction for it must've been mutual. *wonders what I'm doing wrong*
Yoplait yogurt, milk, V8 juices, American Cheese, Smoked Cheddar Cheese, Mozarella Cheese, Tortillas, Pita Bread, Hamburger buns, 1/4 loaf of white bread, grape jelly, margarine, caramel sauce, hershey's choc. syrup, elderberry jam, apples, tangerines, ajnou pears, bartlett pears, romaine lettuce, bacon, lunchmeat, diet soda....*thinking*....yep, that's about it
The freezer has orange juice, chicken, tortilinni, ravioli, ground beef, pork chops, steaks, hamburger patties, chicken chimichangas, french fries, stuffed sole, and a few other things...lol
For the picture of you & your dad...Sears, Penny's & some KMarts have portrait studios in them & they're usually a reasonable cost.
I'm sorta in the same situation...my parents have basically everything. One year I bought my dad an electric throw for when he's sitting in his recliner watching tv. He's loved that. This year I'm thinking about a gift card from a couple different coffee places...one that's owned by someone in their church...and the other one from Dutch Bros (they like the coffee there). I think the only thing I'm getting from them is my great grandmothers wedding ring fixed (originally it was only needing a stone mounted, but after taking it to a jewler & them cleaning it, they knocked out 4 more stones....grrr...and wanted to charge us to have them remounted).
But I think the photo album would be great. If you wanted to do the tivo box too I'm sure he'd like that. You should be able to get one through Best Buy, Circuit City, or his satallite provider.
Haven't been in this situation....yet. But if I wasn't able to find anyone local, and found him within a driveable distance, then I'd be up for swapping weekend trips. I've even suggested that a few times when I've been asked if I thought the distance could work, and when I've made that suggestion I haven't heard back. But if it's the right person, they'll be all over those weekend visits and look forward to them. Then at some point the decision of a move would need to come about. But I supposed I'm not really one to offer advice since I haven't been in the situation. (Dang, 10 years & nothing...lol)
That there is the reason I will never live in Kansas. Been through too many tornado watches just on vacation. I'll take hardly ever happening earthquakes any day...lol
We're just supposed to be getting rain on Monday. And Tuesday. And Wednesday (last I heard) Snow level is supposed to be down to 3,000 foot, which means the mountains out my back door should get a dusting. Looks like I'll get to stay warm by doing some work out in the yard...pesky leaves...lol
I don't go into the chat room because I'm usually on my laptop & it can't handle their chat system. I type fast & can't do it in there. I end up having to type really really slow, press the letters more than once. If I typed at my normal speed in there it would be gibberish.
