The weather here says we will be getting between 2 and 8 inches of snow, leaning more on the high side cause the storm is developing more, and just happoned to come right for us now!! I will be right in the middle of the worst part... Wow I hate that!! There is a chance for up to 1/4 inch of ice too, which is the bad part because when it sticks to power lines, the get too heavy and fall... Not to mention the roads are just a sheet of ice you have to slide on if you need to get out...
Luckily I am only about 6 blocks from the hospital if anything tragic were to happen we could get there fairly easily no matter what weather!! Also my dad just filled his camper- a big one- with all the necessary gas and kerosine just in case the power does go out. We will be fine with that cause there is one queen bed, two twin beds, and the table folds down to a bed a little bigger than a twin... Plus there is a heater, stove, oven, sink, shower, bathroom, fridge, hot water heater and all in there. My sister may come, for sure if the power does go out- then we will have five kids and four adults in there!! It may get a little hectic, but hey I have just about every kind of childs electonic hand held toys made in the past 5 years, so we can keep them all busy!!
Now I just need to get down to the grocery store and stock up on some food and water and we are set... I just hope everyone else in this storm takes it seriously and prepairs for it so nobody freezes to death...
When I was little we lived in Montana, and we got snowed into our house for about two weeks. My dad blocked off the entire house, and we- my parents and three sisters and I- all stayed in one bedroom with the bathroom in it for the most part of that time. We didnt have a lot of money, in fact with four kids, my parents were always broke, so the only source of heat we had was a little coleman stove, and a lot of clothes. It was interesting, and sucked, but it gave us a lot of family bonding time, which I for one will never forget!!
So I guess I just wanted to know if anyone is in the storm, how bad it is getting, and also any stories that anyone may have about being snowed in and the trials and tribulations of that experience??!!
Hope everyone stays warm and cozy durring this one!!
