"Dating" can mean "coming/going when he/she wants"... And why not? Convenient, ain't it?

RE: AMERICANS AND YET STILL PROUD

I think that it’s not that much head lines that people remember, but attempts of Catholic church (in many countries very powerful institution) to cover the crime instead of condemning it. That’s what is upsetting and disgusting. It’s Mafia-like behavior.

The same with Islam – it’s leaders try to make martyrs and heroes of terrorists. And that’s what upsets people.

RE: why people dont beleve so much to dating...

Well… I’m not sure that talking is a waste of time. It’s actually good that people talk: it’s a way to discover whether there are interests in common and chemistry between them. Often it’s the only way to show that you are interested in the person. Lack of communication will kill a relationship very quick.

But of course, talking is just the first step…

As to vanishing people… yes, the survival rate among CS participants is very low, growing lower the closer to the date it comes. I myself have been hit by train a couple of times right before a rendezvous.uh oh

Have never thought that it’s a waltz, but it is. Here’s a French version (just to make it easier to digest):

And here’s the original:

Most adequate translation to a “civilized” language (to the curious):

A song about a friend (Translation by Andrey Kneller)

If your friend just became a man,
Not a friend, not a foe,- just so,
If you really can't tell from the start,
If he's strong in his heart,-
To the peaks take this man - don't fret!
Do not leave him alone, on his own,
Let him share the same view with you -
Then you'll know if he's true.

If the guy on the peak got weak,
If he lost all his care - got scared,
Took a step on the frost - got lost,
Tripped and screamed in exhaust,-
Then the one you held close is false,
Do not bother to yell - expel,-
We can't take such aboard, and in short
We don't sing of his sort.

If the guy didn't whine nor pine,
He was dull and upset, but went,
When you slipped from the cliff,
He heaved, holding you in his grip;
If he walked right along, seemed strong,
On the top stood like he belonged,-
Then, whenever the chances are slim
You can count on him!

RE: Would a woman date a guy in a wheelchair

Looks like the issue isn’t a physical attractiveness, bur responsibility for the disabled person. May I ask, who takes responsibility for this person when he/she is single, ie before he/she met you?

Given that a disabled person has to struggle with the disability AND prejudice, will he/she want (or have time) to take responsibility for you?

RE: AMERICANS AND YET STILL PROUD

Well… I didn’t want to mention that… It's so ugly, isn’t it?

But of course, it’s even worst to pretend that it never happened.

Ain’t their place in a museum? All those prophets, messiahs and other satyrs. With their holy scripts and cows.

RE: AMERICANS AND YET STILL PROUD

Wouldn’t it make him happy that someone continues the traditions of the Catholic Church? Burning books and the like…

RE: AMERICANS AND YET STILL PROUD

In an African country, a few local citizens climbed down a tree and ate up an ambassador of a European country… Actually, nothing unusual for the African country in question, but this European country didn’t understand the joke (no sense of humour, looks like) and issued a note of protest and threats to withdraw all kinds of economical help and the like. The representatives for the African country, not quite understanding what all the fuss was about, shrugged in confusion and said in small voice:

“But dear Sirs and Madames, feel free to eat up our ambassador, if it’d make you happy…”

To OP: if you want, I can buy you a copy of Bible; feel free to burn it if it’d make you happy. Any linguistic preferences?

No, not much...moping

It was planned that we would meet and have some tea/coffee at my flat with 2 other neighbour women. I have a bottle of whisky from “better times”, and it’s just standing taking space as I don’t really like it and don’t know any cocktails that would go with it, but last Friday I’ve been on After work with few colleagues and widened my horizons. So I’ve bought cream and thought to make Irish coffee for the party. But they don’t drink. So it was really tea and coffee and some home bakeds. But a lot of coffee was left, and when the guests left, I made a glass of Irish coffee for myself. But as it was the first time I made it, so I poured too much scotch. Now I know better. Live and learn!idea

No, I don’t know huttenkase, but I agree that quark with chopped salt mushrooms can be very good with rye bread. Or if you want dessert, then quark with strawberries (or some other berries) and cream, and some honey perhaps…
